I was so looking forward to paying whatever for a SS, but with that fugly bumper I may have to rethink it all. What a shame GM...
WOW! Going to choose a V6 over a V8 all because of a bumper!! Ok. You do that, now. Meanwhile, I'll be watching you all night long in my rear view out at the track...

NOTE: If you are going to base a purchasing decision simply due to a bumper, I'd strongly suggest you reconsider! Aftermarket will always be there!

Never said i was going to get a v6. I said I had to rethink is all. If I was going to get a v6, it would probably be a G37 not a Camaro. I'm going to wait to see all the new final production cars next year and then make my move. Yes, an aftermarket bumper is an option, but I really don't want to spend 30k plus for a car with a lame stock bumper only to have to spend more to make it acceptable. Hopefully GM allows for the V6 bumper on the SS as an option.

Even worse, a G37 over the Camaro...

IMO, the bumper isn't even that bad. I think some billet grille or maybe some other kind of insert than the ugly one they slapped in that bottom opening would really make it look better...i'm not a huge fan of the 'checkerboard' look myself, but I think there should be a difference between the front facia on the v6 and v8... anyways, in almost any car you will find something you don't like about it. yes, even a g37(which is MUCH MUCH more expensive than either the v6 or SS) will have things about it you don't really care for. Trust me, the SS is the way to go...if GM was bringing g37's around with them on their competition drives then I think that probly means they are aiming for the SS to beat it. Which makes me happy, my dad just got one and he can't stop rubbing it in my face that he finally got something to beat my tC..I'll be the first to show him when I pull up in a new SS But yeah man, don't judge a whole car on one specific thing...especially a bumper. thats what? MAYBE 700 dollars...and thats if you buy an OEM v6 bumper to bolt on...aftermarket would be even cheaper.

Hey, in all honesty, a G37 is a sweeeeet looking ride. I'll give ya that. But, a bumper is something minor that, IMO w/ a little work and yes...a little more money, can be changed. I know it doesn't sound appealing to have to change a brand new part out for something else....but....if you want the SS, you get the SS bumper. That's something that the enthusiasts pushed for....the desciples, etc. We all wanted a visible difference between the V6 and V8.
