I completely understand about your wife having different feelings. I was lucky enough to make my own choice on what I wanted since I was keeping in the same range as my last vehicle. I never told her how much I was spending on parts and she never asks and rather not know. She knows I'm only going so far and then just driving the thing for as long as possible then she gets to continue to pull out of me the things that she wants. That's why I'm working my life away with a ton of OT. Well... plus having 5 kids. I need this getaway car like you can't imagine!

Well, I was ready and was really hoping so, but not so lucky! The two day exhaust job has turned into a one week job. Won't be ready until Monday now. Had to tell them to take the clamps off the diverters, move one off the heat shield, and weld the things on so I don't chance leaks. They lack the diverter wiring and the axle back is all. Delay is due to not having 3" stainless piping on hand which a little was required near the mufflers.
Oh well, it takes some things time to make things right! I made sure to get an odometer reading and their promise that no one was going to be driving it over the weekend. They promised that it would remain up in the air on the lift with a camera in view.
I was able to crank her up today with straight pipes and without the mufflers on and holy crap... I had the need to look in the rearview mirror to see if Dale Jr. was drafting behind before I realized I'm not even driving. OMG I definitely will not be having the diverters open for long periods of time I don't think unless I want to look like OJ escorting the LAPD home. Scared the daylights out of my 3 year old son when I reved it a little.

I talked to Eric at Classic today and I believe I will have order info tomorrow as he said it should be going into the system this afternoon!!!

I stayed with the RS rims, and went with a BLK Interior (Gonna cook me in the summer but oh well).

Other than that.... we ordered the same thing! Eric gonna have alot of CGM Camaro's to deliver

Got my SS back end of day yesterday then took it home for some milder mods. Installed black powder coated bow ties, black SS badges, and rear sequential turn signals.
They completed my exhaust successfully and did a great job with everything welded. All I can say is...
My home owners association should be working up a crafty letter to drop off to me soon!
I've had a few Flowmaster mufflers in my time, but haven't done these Super 44's before. Oh man!!! I'm afraid it might be a little too much for my 3 year old in the back seat "for long trips". We took a short trip today and I felt I had to mount a portable dvd player to the back of the passenger seat for him with provided headphones just to keep him calm in what sounded like sitting closest to engines on a turbo prop plane. Good Lord! The sound at 65-75mph in 6th gear was nearly punishment. I played with the diverters on the highway and wide open, it made my SS sound like an Apache helicopter from the inside and the vibrations from the sound were making the bolts in my cabin beg for re-tightening.
If my personlized tag could only fit, "can you hear me now?" that would rock!
Anyhow, only for the sake of my backseaters (3 yr. old) in particular, I'm having to seriously think about replacing the mufflers for some milder ones. I have the electronic diverters in anyway so I have the Nascar sound at the tip of my finger when I want to wake the dead. Until then, all my neighbors can just rely on me to be their 6am alarm clock as I'm rolling home after work in the mornings. I've tried my possible best to see how quiet I could be through my nieghborhood in different gears with a very lightfoot, etc. and no chance. Even just pushing the clutch and starting the car without touching the gas pedal, my SS cranks on strong and loud.
Anyway, that's my synopsis. Flowmasters has promised to send me a new hush power axle back system that they recently developed for SEMA since I've helped give them some good business. That ought to fit in as a replacement just perfect with my diverters. We'll see how that goes later on. I'll take full advantage of having my headers re-tightened at that time.
I really need to catch up on some sleep. Been hard trying to enjoy the car a little while working 12 hour nights and watching my 3 yr old at home. I've still managed to get some things done with the SS in spite of the clock being against me. Whew! Sleep is under-rated anyhow.
I have some vacation coming up "next week" so I'll be posting promised pics and videos as soon as I get her cleaned and polished. Bare with me on that.
I'm looking forward to my visit for when my plates come in Eric! I'll be sure to roll in with diverters wide open to help ensure no Classic employees are asleep on the job.
