For the LS3 guys, after installing longtubes I did the fuse pull to reset the ecu because the check engine light came on. I left the fuses out over night, and the next morning the check engine light was still on. Perhaps the battery pull is necessary for LS3... I will try it and report back.

I did the fuse pull on my L99 and it worked like a charm. Thanks everyone for your great advise on this thread! :-)

Also did the fuse pull on my LS3, let it sit overnight. Runs a lot smoother, not so herky-jerky when shifting, and SOTP feels quicker.

Putting long tube headers on your car need a tune, you have moved the locations of cats and that is messing stuff up. Off coarse putting long tubes on and moving cats and then tuning you lose your drivetrain warranty.

I'm aware that I ultimately need a tune after installing the longtubes, but resetting the ecu should turn off the check engine light for a little while. However, pulling the fuses did not turn the light off at all, so apparently the ecu was not reset.

Will Chevy eventually fix this "ocatane timing table" reset problem? I mean, shouldn't it be possible to program the car to correct this problem of setting it for low octane after the correct gas is put in the car? It really shouldn't be necessary for us to have to pull fuses ourselves for this. I know some of you don't mind doing these things, but I'm getting ready to buy a $37,000 car and I kind of think this should be an easily correctable issue through programming.

I'm assuming someone at Chevy reads these forums?

As a follow up, this morning I pulled my fuses, disconnected my battery, held the brake pedal down for 15 seconds, and then let the car sit for 30 minutes. When I reconnected everything, the check engine light was gone. I drove for 100+ miles today with no light.

I must also note that when I had my hood up, I rechecked all the clamps on my newly installed Roto-fab CAI and found that the filter was fairly loose. This very well could have been the reason I was throwing a code as the check engine light did not come on until about a day after the CAI was installed and was intermittent at first. Therefore, this may also explain the reason why my first attempt to reset the ecm by only pulling the fuses did not work (as the filter was still loose).

well I jumped on the band wagon but I was scared of the placebo effect. So (this is my wifes car BTW) I pulled the fuses last night w/o her knowing and reinstalled this morning. Didnt say a word wanted to see if she noticed anything. So as soon as she got to work and called me and asked me what I did lol. I was like what do you mean? She said the car feels stronger and she said she really noticed cause she was at a light wasnt paying attention (probably looking at herself in the mirror..lol) so the guy honks and she get in the gas a little more then normal. Says shes was spinning like she was on tile lol. I drive the car a few times a week and she'll b home in about 10 minutes and Im gonna go for a spin and see. Also I didnt consider this to b a slow L99. Runs pretty good but what the hell we re always lookin for better right. Ill be back shortly

The fuse pull got me 7 tenths in the 1/8 mile. That's a hell of a testimonial to the power of pulling a couple of fuses!!!!

Awesome. I was shocked myself.

Still can't understand why some think this may be BS. Just look at my vids. You can't get better proof on this.

I have the manual 6 2ss. Did the fuse pull, left them out for about 10hrs overnight and the thing does shift better now. I knew that I was that bad of "stick driver". I just put 3000 miles on it and took it for its first oil change today and was getting 16miles for the fuel. So we will see if that goes up hopefully.

Let us know. You ever have mid or low grade fuel in it?
