now that it's gone. Do you think they will still make the Z28. I know they are pushing forward with the cts-v coupe but what's in store for GM performance cars?

it isnt gone... the performance division makes all the SS's... and its badged under the hood near the top of the radiator if you'd like to see for yourself

yes but from what I read GM is closing the performance division. I saw this in the artices about the cts-v coupe.

Performance division is closed. Doesn't mean GM still can't build performance cars.

It actually was right before they received the bail-out money to keep the liberal tree huggers happy. The GM Performance Division members are working with other teams within GM. Once the company goes public and pays back the loans I'm sure GMPD will be back together. Either we will have the Z28.

I think they are only gone in name, they went underground with their research.. like gov military programs it is hidden in the budget...

They are still very active, look at all the new high HP crate engines that recently were released.

I'm suprised about this because I thought these programs would've been the first to be cut. I think they're hugely valuable and know that GM invented the crate engine but it almost seemed like this program would've gone the way of GMPP. Whatever the case, it's good for all of us and the rest of the GM faithful.

they don't hide them any more. it's just labled Black projects. lol. it's just the goverment over pays for so much stuff. seriously some of the screws I've ordered are like 30$ ea. wth? and there's nothing really special about them.

BUT skunk works is the best way to develop something. a hand shake on what you want and the team gives you more then you want. IE p-38 had several advanced tech that the goverment didn't ask for but gave the plane an edge.
