3500lbs with 305hp and 280 lbs of torque. This car is going to MOVE! And a gear ratio 3.31. This car with its track pack will be one tough contendor!

Sounds like a very good car. However, GM would be stupid not to respond to this is some sort of fashion. I'm guessing they took out some items in the Performance Level trim, or they just replaced parts with lighter versions?

Not necessarily. They added 90 hp to the V6 while keeping the weight about the same, due to a simple upgrade of an old engine. And the 4.6 is even older than the 4.0 Ford replaced for this V6 upgrade.

Everything that I've heard indicates that the price increase from the 2009 to 2010 included many of the upgrades for 2011 (which means a few people REALLY got the shaft), so there shouldn't be much of a price change.

The GT could be packing one hell of a punch. We'll know for sure on Wednesday.

Well can we not wait until the 2011 Camaro V6 has said it is not getting any changes?

Nah, they just finally replaced the ancient 4.0 with an engine that weighs about the same but has much higher efficiency and power output.

I can't wait for the GT. It's going to be completely insane.

Given the numbers and the lowered curb weight to 3500 lbs, I expect this 2011 V6 to be able to keep up with a current GT.

You know if GM made the camaro's exhaust better they could jump past 304hp and beat the mustang! make way for 306hp and start another war lol.
Too late, they already did. Gmpartsdirect offers a number of different performance exhaust for the v6 Camaro, and the v8. They should give you that extra "umph" you need to win.

syr74 said it was "below 3500lbs" with the performance package equipped, but "300 lbs" less than a camaro without it. So they obviously got rid of 100+ lbs somehow...
