Great to see the rivalry going strong. It'll be good for the consumer. Let's get ready to rumble!

Which should put the 2011 V6 at around a high to mid 13's 1/4 mile time. The GT clocks in at low 13's, so it should be very close. Honestly if I was a 2010 Mustang owner, I'd be super pissed.
If you were a 2010 Mustang owner, you'd be super stupid

Honestly, who would buy the 2010 knowing that the next year was getting such a great engine?

But I don't think you can assume it will be as low as 3400lbs. Why would they say 'below 3500lbs' instead of 'it will be 3400lbs'. Below 3500lbs means it could be 3498lbs... meaning +- a 100lb difference which wont be enough to account for the power.

Well if you do the math of the V6 Camaro weighing ~3800 lbs with the article mentioning the 2011 V6 will be "300 lbs lighter than a comparable Camaro", this will bring it to 3500 lbs. Then they say the SVT equipped one will be "below 3500 lbs," so why would they even bother mentioning that if it wasn't at least a decent amount of weight below it?

hmm..305 hp. Weren't the Mustang guys bragging about 315?

I bet the 2010 'Stang owners are gonna be pissed. The new base '11 V6 offers current 4.6 V-8 like performance.

The LCA's they mention are standard on a GT500. They are the Ford Racing LCA's ....The track pack equip GT also get those LCA's. I was going to use those on my GT, but L&M had a better deal running, plus I could get them in Black&Red

Didn't GM make sure the Camaro beat the Challenger SRT by 1 hp as well?

It's just too bad that when you're sitting in a Challenger, you feel like you're in your grandma's Chrysler

Does the fact that the Camaro is bigger in every external dimension but height have anything to do with it's weight? Seems like a case of the simplest answer is often the most accurate.

I've heard that dealerships offered great deals on the 2010s. One of the guys on this site got a killer deal on a 2010 GT for his wife. Not everyone is concerned with HP, torque, and 1/4 mile times. Yes, 95% of the people HERE are, but we are a minority of car buyers/owners. Plus, I'm sure Ford will raise the price of the V6 and GT models next year as well.

Nothing stupid about finding a car you want and getting a great deal on it.

With that big of a change in engines they might just upset their current buyers cuz they got short changed by buying a 'stang this year.

And even the new model that will boast 29mpg hwy and 19 city is only 1 mile better that the comparable camaro version in both aspects.

Camaro is back and is here to stay and I am glad to be a part of it!

The percentage of people that own Chrysler products that still have surviving grandparents must be miniscule.
