You're a wealth of knowledge Ed. I threw my Meguiar's stuff away and bought a kit from Adam's Polishes. It's a little pricy but it should last. And as they say, "a little goes a long way."

Emblem prep?
Ok, now that the car has 5 layers of Zaino
. Now how do I prep the surface to apply my "V Flag" & and Bow Tie emblems with 3M tape?

Ed, I have had my IOM camaro for a little over a week now. Absolutely love the color. Awesome when it is clean. My last camaro 2000 SS was VR. Also a great color. Anyways my question is I have not done any real polishing, waxing yet. I have only used meguiars quik detailer and quik wax. Real smooth surface and great results with just that. Is it a good idea to go ahead and wax? My buddy said I should wait 6 months. What about polish? Does a new car need polishing? I'll be sticking with meguires. Or will the quik detailer and quik wax get me through the winter? Thanks.

Go ahead and start waxing/polishing. Meguires offers very good products also. Personally, I'd try and get a good coat of wax on your car versus just using a quick detailer to get you through the winter. The "stuff" used on roadways to keep them clear during the winter is harsh, and you want your paint protected as best as you can. ![]() Please let me know if you have any other questions. Ed |

![]() If you're going to choose an "over the counter" brand, ie; Mothers or Meguires, I'd then suggest you just use one of their car washes. I don't see any benefit using the Z7 without the Zaino polishes. ![]() Ed |

Hey Moose,
If I've used Zaino (Z5, Z2) in the past and plan to try Mequiars or Mothers in the future, is it necessary to strip the Zaino first? If so, how? Wash with dawn? |

![]() I've done a few cars, whose owners have asked me to use something other than Zaino, (to save some $$$) with no problem. Ed |
