17" Rear Wheels or 18's??? I see that a Few people are using 18" Wheels but I heard from a guy at Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge La that the 17's are the way to go... Any thoughts...

Just curious? With the welded up rear end, what does that do to you "streetability" ??? Or is this a trailered race car?

It's a matter of relative sidewall height. If you run an 18" with the same relative sidewall height as a 17", the physics work the same.

that exhaust and rims = fkin sexy. my heart almost sank knowing 800rwhp only put you in the 10's. then i kept reading. nice run and DAMN nice car. once you workout all the kinks and get a slightly better technique and feel for the car you will DOMINATE. and as someone else said THAT IS HOW A CAMARO IS SUPPOSE TO SOUND

You must have been soooo excited. You're well on your way to the goal! Congrats!

You answered your own question. RWHP is not directly related to the track times. While it helps there are a lot of factors that go into racing including weight, gearing, tuning, temperature, track conditions, driver experience, etc.

Based on the what the OP has done so far he should easily meet his goal!

Its a 468ci LSX with a CFN direct port jetted to 300shot. We have a FJO progressive controller bring in the shot slowly not to blow the drag radials off. We have some suspension and transmissions changes to make over the hoilday, and then back to the track to try to get a single digit pass. We are making just over 800 to the wheels right now, we might be going after a few more HP also.

Build;

LSX 468ci
Warhawk LS7x heads
Fast 102R intake
American Racing Headers 2" and x Pipe
Custom Cat back Borla mufflers
ARD 4l80E conversion (one piece driveshaft)
Hendrix Engineering Axles
Welded up rear end (thanks Brian aka Madman)
Cold Fusion Nitrous Direct port and Fuel system

The car is heavy we have not changed anything to lighten it, stock front wheels, brakes, suspension etc. Rollcage, drive shaft safey loop, iron block, etc. legal to 10.0's. Our goal is to go nines on drag radials at full weight. this off of tech, his mods.
I apreciate your build but. Why keep the street weight and Weld the rear ? Not a street car any more ? Is this on a stock ECM ? FYI brake swap and wheels over 200 lbs + skinnies would have put you in the 9's on that pass .
