Horns and lights upon locking??

So using my vehicle config. via the radio I set my car to "horns and lights" when I lock the car with the key fob however when I hit "lock" only the lights come on then I hit lock a second time and the horn beeps. In my vette "horns and lights" meant both happened at the same time. So is this normal?

Yes. One click of the lock button locks the car, the second sets the alarm. Just as one click of the unlock will open the drivers door, and the second unlocks all.

Nope I have it set so one click unlocks both doors.

Ok, the set up I mentioned was the default setting. You still have to press the remote twice to set the alarm.

The alarm isn't really on with just one press?

Also, my remote seems to bounce when I hit Lock once in a while. Usually, it works OK, but sometimes, when I just hit it once, the horn sounds.

I thought the horn is just an audible confirmation that the locks & alarm were set (same way the lights are a visual confirmation).

I am not too sure about that. every GM car I have bought with remote entry sets the alarm on the first push of the button when it locks the car. the second when the horn beeps is just a audible confimation.. try to lock the car with one push of the button then unlock the door with the key then open the door, I bet the alarm will go off...works that way on my HHR, and Sunfire and it did on both my Skys..

We're both correct. If you press the lock button on your remote entry twice your system is automatically armed. If you press once it arms automatically after about 30 seconds.
