I'm pretty sure they'll work. If not, I can order you factory bulbs in any color

i thought 12000k will suck in visibility compared to the stock ones. the higher the number = the lesser the lumens? something along these lines 8000k is more blue. 6000k is a bit less blue but brighter. 4300k is brigtest with little blue
found this: http://www.mcculloch-hid.com/ebay/Color%20chart.jpg anyone know what temperature our stock HIDs burn at? 5k? |

either 4300K or 5000K. no more, no less. Im gonna change to 6500K (White with very slight hue or purple) as soon as its confirmed whether its D1S or D2S bubls that the car takes

12000k is way to high. I would say no more than 6000k (white w/ a blue tint).

Old post but I disagree. I always run 12000K. They are brighter then the stock HIDs in car but not as bright as some lower temperature. And I thin it looks the best and lights up white like a black light is hitting it.

i agree... well, different manufacturers have different color ranges in their output level. Our 6000K is pure white while others 6000K will have some blue.
our 12000K is purple.... which is what I don't recommend. |

Yes, they are D1S. I replaced the factory blub (Osram's) - my estimate they were about 4300k range with Osram's 6000k with very little difference. Stepped up to 8000k, now we are talking. White light with hint of blue.
Easy mod, essentially the blub has a self contained ballast and is held in place with a twist ring on the inside. I was told, and it appears to be true, that you can't compare the k rating from those HID kits that replace the factory blub in 'non HID housings' with ones like we are discussing here (D1S). I thought the 6000k would do it, but the 8000k was the look I wanted. Hope this helps. BTW, AAC lighting was very good about the exchange, no issues from the 6000k to 8000k. Even though they call it Oracle lighting, it was the same manufacture blub as the stock blub, and they claim a warranty for life. The pair set me back $225. |
