You might call Max & Ermas & reserve tables in their back room like we did before.

Scary, heinz, you must be a mindreader! I was just thinking, "I think heinz made reservations when we met there before, I'll have to ask him." LOL! Will do when we have a better idea of how many to expect.

I had also looked into renting one of the Roberts Conference Center meeting rooms and possible having dinner in the meeting room but it was looking too expensive.

Their Liberty meeting room was $200 and meals would have been over $20 each. Below is a sample of their menu.

Hey guys! Guess what we've got in the family now? A 2nd gen '74, currently being garaged at my nephew's property outside of Marietta. Details will be forthcoming- the engine runs (350 V8 but model # unknown yet) but its Hydra-Matic tranny needs work. Body's in fair to good shape but also needs work.

We don't know a lot about this car yet - it belonged to my other nephew who was murdered in Richmond, VA and it was recently brought up from Florida after his estate was settled. It may be a while before we get over there to take pics - ones we have received show a vehicle that needs lots of TLC. It will definitely be a labor of love to restore this vehicle but none of us can bear to part with it for obvious reasons.

Please do post pics, a VIN and body plate (on drivers side cowl) when you can. I'll be glad to help you out with 2nd gen info and possible parts (new & used). NastyZ28.com also has a wealth of 2nd gen info.

Murdered!!!

Thanks, Heinz! I hoped you would post on this. We'll probably need help finding tranny parts once we take a total inventory of the car. May take a while to get more info as it's being kept in an unheated garage - on days like this that doesn't seem like a very fun place to hang out and check for VIN & body plate info!

We're (RS_Man & I) are excited about this. My nephew travels all over and just doesn't have the time to work on the car. It's about a 3 hour trip to their house so this may be a slow project depending on what we find.

Yes, our other nephew was murdered. Kidnapped, driven around town to different ATMs and forced to withdraw all his money, then shot seven times and his body dumped outside of town. We'd really like to get this car restored in his memory - he was a big, lovable guy with a family and had way too much living ahead of him to be gone so soon.

So sorry for your loss - restoring his car will be a very special tribute. Good luck!

Anyone looking for GM ground effects? I have a friend who has both sides and the rear for sale. It does not include the front spoiler. They are brand new in the box. He wants $850.00.

Wow, that is a super tragic story. So sorry. Hope you can get the '74 fixed up. You will feel good about it and your nephew. I bought my late brother's pickup from his estate this summer. I have been cleaning, polishing, touching up all the scratches all summer and slowly repairing or replacing all the things he couldn't afford to. It's making me feel better about my brother and I plan to keep it in the family, probably help my other brother's son purchase it in a year or two when he can afford it.

Heard something interesting tonight.

I was down at Frank Z picking up the truck (body work) and the body shop guy (Mike) told me to be looking for a possible message from GM about valve problems with the 2010s. He showed my a new CGM with only 4 miles on it in their shop having valve work done on it. The mechanics weren't there and he didn't have any other info on it. Has anyone heard of anybody having valve problems? I did a quick search on here and didn't see anything. Hope it's just an isolated case.

There's a summit white parked down at the Montgomery County parking garage (Dayton) quite often with silver rally stripes and white painted aftermarket wheels (at least 22's). Next time I see it I'll snap a photo and post it.
