snow tires....again

i have an old thread on this but i have another question. i have a 2LT RS with the 20 inch rims. im looking to buy snow tires. i went on tirerack.com and to avoid confusion with the speedometer and odometer i tried to find a set of rims that were 20 inches. and i found a pair that i like which were the BOSS 338's. the only problem with this is that the actual tires are so expensive. the cheapest snow tire for 20 inch rims are $230 which is ridiculous. would anyone know of another website or something else. please leave suggestions/ opinions. thanks

You don't need to install 20'' wheels, what is important is the overall circumference of the tire. Within tirerack you can select 17 18 and 19'' wheel package all with the same tire circumference.

well i wanted to get the 20 inch rims anyway cuz i was thinking about keeping them on all year round. but i would just have to buy a set of summer tires that would fit those.

I have to admit I like the 20" pirelli scorpion Ice and snow that I had installed on my stock rims. They look and feel a lot like the P zero's but don't corner as good.

You can take these winter tires up to 155mph as they are rated for it. I was amazed when I found that out.

I can't say enough good things about the 18" rims and Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tires I ordered. Sure the upfront cost was a high at just over $1500, but now spring and fall I can switch between good summer tires and snow tires.

I alsot have a 2LT RS and I went with 18" rims and Firestone Winterforce tires from Tirerack.com. All in and shipped to Canada (no TPMS sensors) cost was about $1,250US.

Had first storm of the year last night and into this morning...Camaro drove like a tank. No problem getting through about 6inches of snow.

I agree that I think All-Season's will do the job in New Jersey. If I was still in Pittsburgh I'd be going all out for snow/ice, but the winters here are much milder as far as snow and ice.

If I have problems with all-season's this winter, I'll just make sure to switch to snow/ice tires next year.
