Congrats on the 650 package engine upgrade!! I am sure it will be everything that you expect! I believe 2010 is talking about the 370 rear end gears.

Uh Oh.....RS may not like us talking about 2010's rear end.

With those gears and some really sticky wide tires her car will be awsome!!!

Now I'm real curious..... How do the 370 gears help. I was under the impression 1st gear would almost become worthless after the supercharger but it would definitely take a beating better. I had 411s in my '70 years ago - but nothing close to this power level.

Most of all, I'm curious about your RPM transmission upgrade. I spoke with Ryan at LPE about tranny output shaft concerns and what could be done. He got a qoute for doing a Level V upgrade for 2695 - but the output shaft doesn't get replaced. Called dealership and brand new tranny is something like 3150 w/o clutch stuff and install costs. So I decided to take my chances that GM warranty might cover it. Especially after talking with John Fiztpatrick and Al Oppenhieser with camaro5 member "mtcwby" at SEMA, then seeing that a supercharged member got his tranny replaced under warranty.

On street tires you are right, however with drag radials or even better slicks, your traction will increse by a huge margin. At least that is the hope. With a little lower gear ration you can then utilize the extra traction for a stronger hole shot and a faster 1/4 mile time.

On the output shaft, the jury is still out as to how much it can handle, I have flogged mine pretty hard a few times with no problems. We will have to see how it handles extra traction with the drag radials.
I think the warranty is really up to the dealer, he dosent have to mention the maggie. Unless a factory rep is in the shop GM would never know.

Blue, I have no worries about the tranny shafts, only the half shafts. I spoke, at length, with Rodney at RPM Transmissions http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/ about it.
I think he has forgotten more about this transision than most people will ever know!
I think any problems in the new Camaro's has been purely by chance. I haven't ran mine with the drag slicks yet. But I have faith.
Several months ago, when I had the clutch pack upgrade done on mine, Rodney was talking about an upgraded shaft. But, I believe his concern was with the mid-shaft in the trans. They have put 1000 HP through these transmissions without fail.
Lingy popped their half shafts first thing on their car. I didn't have much faith in the stockers, thus the upgrade to The Driveshaft Shops 1000 HP shafts.
By the way, through a little intuition and then mathematical backing from Kevin at Lingenfelter,(via the engineer fairy) it is my belief that the 3.70 gear is THE gear for the auto trans car.
The most bang for the buck! All the advantages without over sacrificing top end or mileage.
