DEALER NAME: Lawrence Chevrolet
DEALER LOCATION: Mechanicsburg, PA DEALER PHONE: (717)610-4134 DEALER WEBSITE: www.lawrencechevy.com I personally had a great experience, and although the last several dozen pages aren't really about this, I figure this is the thread to relate it in. ***LONG POST WARNING*** About two weeks ago I got rear ended in an accident. I was at a red light, 17 year old kid barrels into me without breaking. I was in a 06 Scion TC. It was a total loss, and I ended up with about 5k after the payout. Now, I didn't have a lot of time. I'd have like to shop, possibly order my new vehicle, but I only had so much money the rental car could run up and the rental I ended up with was a friggin' Toyota Yaris, so I had to get out of that thing asap. I'd heard that Chevy dealers in my area weren't moving off of MSRPs because they were having no problems selling Camaros at sticker. I started my car quest with 3 goals in mind as far as my wants - I wanted bangs and whistles as far as cockpit tech, I wanted some oomph under the hood to have at least a little fun with, and I wanted a good looking ride. My needs were that it had to be an automatic (wife refuses to learn stick and often pulls DD duty) and that I had to keep my payments reasonable. I wanted to look at all three of the Detroit offerings, but I had a feeling that negotiating toward invoice was going to be a lot more difficult with Challys and Camaros than the Mustang, and originally, I was right. Challengers proved difficult to find in my area. The car economy closed up most of the Dodge dealers near me, and those that remained only had one or two on their lot. Add that to the fact that despite email bombing dealers that I was in the market to narrow the field to the folks that were going to open aggressively to get my attention I extremely lukewarm attention from the Dodge dealer in my area, I crossed the Chally off the list. Ford almost got my business. There's a dealer in Harrisburg that a friend of mine dealt with earlier in the year that gave him an excellent deal, and through email contact alone was going thousands below sticker price. They said I could pretty much name my specifications and they could find one and get it in within days, and they'd be willing to get agressive on that price as well. Enter Lawrence Chevrolet. I stopped by their lot, let them know I was nosing around the Detroit muscle offerings and told them up front that I wasn't real interested in paying what's on the window. We conversationally narrowed down what I was looking for, and their showroom car was exactly what I wanted. Honestly, I'd had a similar car pulled together on the Chevy website. I drove it, I loved it, I pretended to still love Mustangs, and I got a great deal. Obviously, the fact that it was already on their lot helped a great deal vs giving them a print out and asking them to order it. I'm sure you'd probably pay sticker in that situation, maybe I'm wrong. But given the fact that this was a car that I first sat in at 35 miles on the odometer, I was pretty damn excited to walk away with the deal I did. Fact was, I'm no die-hard devotee of any car manufacturer, but admittedly the Mustang has lost a little of the excitement it generated when the current generation hit the market. Both the Challenger and the Camaro held a great deal more aesthetic appeal for me, and the Camaro had much better reviews out of the two. I feel like I'm a double blessed guy - one for getting out of the wreckage of that little Scion in one piece, and two for getting a terrific deal on exactly what I wanted in my car. |

I bought a Camaro from Lollier Chevrolet in Fayetville, NC for $300 over invoice. Ended up at MSRP once we added dealer fees and State taxes. I am pleased with the deal

I think all you have to do is shop a little. I found them on Ebay in Pennsylvania for Invoice. I ended up buying mine in Fayetteville, NC for $300 over invoice from Reed-Lallier Chevrolet. Very Happy.

FWIW - I feel I did OK with O'Reilly Chevy in Tucson. Paid $500 under MSRP with a pre-order and they were great with answering all of my noob questions. I just had to waive the 6 month return deal that Chevy was offering. Just ask for the Internet Sale Guys - Scott Gabriel or Joe Yusba. I drove 75 miles to deal with them since they were responsive. Local guys wouldn't even return a call and all I wanted to do was see one in person before I pre-ordered... Luckily my local dealer is OK with service but the sale staff is lacking.
