Did they recently switch to winter gas in the area? Sometimes that can make a noticeable difference. Tire pressure up? Temps drop like a rock in the area, which will really richen up the cold starts. Often it's a combination of all of the above in the winter.
Just about anything really wrong with the engine would turn on the check engine light. You could try a highway mpg test. Set the cruise on the highway, reset the mpgs to zero and drive 10 miles or so and see where it is. Or the old school way of dividing out the miles and gallons. |

how many miles do you have on it?
I remember my first 2 thousand were somewhere around 14.5mpg all city and that was with shifting at 2200-3400 rpm it will get better, i dont know what the conversion is but i have about 5000 km on it now and get about 14L/100km for 90% city driving, and thats driving like an ass |

![]() The gas and tire pressure could be what's doing it. You burn through gas quicker in the colder months anyhow.

Thanks everyone, i was thinking all those things but 50 miles a tank less seemed excessive. Got to watch the remote start in the winter....it's soooo nice though.

Also if they use ethanol mix in your fuel it will result in less mpg.

I don't think the supreme gas is going to improve your gas mileage any. The only real difference to the supreme is the octane; it's not any more combustible. I run regular in my V6. I've been getting around 23-24 mpg. |

I run supreme in mine and get around 320 a tank. Also it keeps everything a little cleaner than regular. Arnt we supposed to run midgrade in the v6 anyways????

lets not forget the fact the 19 city and 29 highway is based on driving 50-55 mph on the highway with no hard stops and quick accelerations. even if you don't jump on the car and do 65-70 mph your mpg will drop big time on these v6, its a 3.6L not a 2.0. so your gonna waste gas. I am in NYC so I am lucky if I see 17 or even 18 mpg to the gallon, thats a combo of highway driving and city driving, say about 50/50. I usually around 70-80 mph on the highway

Wow, I get 370-400 miles per tank in my SS. Even gettin on it evey so often. Using 76 fuels Super unleaded, first oil change at 2900 miles and I use Valvoline Synthetic. The worst I have seen was when I picked up the car before getting completely broke in. The first tank was 350. The most I have seen is 404 miles.
