Camaro 2LT vs 2008 Charger R/T, close race?

Alright so I might race my friend (who owns a Charger R/T) at the track. I'm looking at car reviews and it says the 1/4 for the Charger R/T is 14.1-14.2 is this true? If so it sounds like my 2LT might actually stand a chance and not get its doors blown off in a race.. I'm really surprised if this is the case because the Charger has way more hp and torque. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

Is it an AWD or RWD only Charger? mods?

A stock RWD Charger from 06-09 put out 340 HP at the crank, which puts it at about 290 at the wheels.

Stock vs. Stock it should be a close race, he does had a torque advantage off the line.

driver's race, but make sure he doesn't have a tune on there (Diablo Predator- no way to tell because he could load the tune and you would never know). My bro's got a charger R/T with I/E and Diablo tuner and the thing moves- not sure how it compares to my Z but I'm sure it's close if not faster. A quick check shows one of the fastest stock R/T's was 13.7 but the majority were seeing low to mid 14's

It will be close until 80 mph or so, after that he will walk you pretty good.

Sorry but you're way off.The 05 to 07 had 340,but the road and track 07 had 350hp.the 08 and up have 369 hp with vvt, some dynoed at close to 330 whp.Depends on the track,i've seen mid 13 from stock 08 and 09 with good driver.

I'd give the Charger a slight advantage ... but not much.

Also, I checked the specs at consumer guide and the 2008 R/T's had 335 hp and 375 ft-lbs of torque.

Lots of HP\Gear combos out, and the '09 upgrade too. Below seems to be accurate...... Re the gear ratios on the Autos, the transmission is geared differently for the Automatics, so it does not translate to what we are used to (i.e. 3:55, 3:70, etc...).

2006-2008
2WD Charger R/T, Auto, 5.7, 340HP, (2.82:1)
2WD Charger R/T Daytona, Auto, 5.7, 350HP, (2.82:1)
Charger SRT8, Auto, 6.1, 425HP, (3.06:1)

2009+
AWD Charger R/T, Auto, 5.7, 368HP, (3.06:1)
2WD Charger R/T, Auto, 5.7, 368HP, (2.65:1)
2WD Charger Daytona,5.7,Auto, 372HP, (3.06:1)
Challenger R/T, Auto, 5.7, 376HP, (3.06:1)
Challenger R/T, Manual, 5.7, 376HP, (3.73 - 18''s)
Challenger R/T w track pack, Manual, 5.7, 376HP, (3.92 - 20''s)

Charger SRT8, Auto, 6.1, 425HP, (3.06:1)
Challenger SRT8, Auto, 6.1,425HP,(3.06:1)
Challenger SRT8, Manual, 6.1, 425HP, (3.92:1)

Don't forget the 06-08 R/Ts with the Road and track packages, they got the same 350 as the Daytonas. 09 Road and Track package cars got the same the same 372 HP as the Daytona, but not the Daytonas improved gearing.
