Object Detection System

I have a 2SS that I order in October and took delivery Nov 25. I have the back up sensors and the car beeps as I back up but I do not have the indicators lights as discribed on page 8-41 of the owners manual.

I called the dealer and didn't get a warm fuzzy that they even knew what I was talking about and don't feel they are going to research why my car don't have the lights.

Any other new owners with this system missing the indicator lights?

The display is located in the center
of the rear seat back filler panel
trim and uses three color-coded
lights to provide distance and
system information.

Great, now I sound like a 5 ton who has no skill.

Glad mine was an early model!

Before I bought my car I downloaded a manual from the internet, and it mentioned the lights as well. The manual that came with the actual car did not mention the lights.

There are no lights. I dont even have that feature on my car (As mine is an earlier production model), but I noticed the other day that there is a perfect outline of where it is SUPPOSED to be. If you look at the back of the 3rd Brake Light bezel on your rear deck, you'll see a little outline in the plastic. This is clearly visible from the rear view mirror, and leads me to believe that this feature may be included on later model years (2011, 2012, etc etc) as the cutout in the larger plastic panel is already in place.

I got a 2SS built in Oct. Its got the backup system but no lights. Although I've heard that the manual does reference having lights (I never did check myself).

Is there any chance that GM would add the sensors to the earlier models if we made a stink?

Depends on the type of stink and the objects detected as a result of, or in the proximity to, the stink.

If it's beeping fast, it's going to go to a steady beep very soon. I think there's about a foot of room once the solid beep comes on. So, maybe slow down a little while backing up.
