I spoke to my dealer today and they want to know if I want the undercoat package, protection for leather seats and carpet included ($995.). I live in Port Alberni and they use brine and salt on the roads. I don't plan on driving in the snow but intend to enjoy my car all other times. Any opinions, I have three weeks to decide what to do with my New Years baby!!!

That sounds higher than what I remember for the protection options....

Also, you can get them done anytime.

I declined to get either.

The car DOES NOT need or want under coat. Your owners manual will tell you it could void your warranty.

The carpets do not need coating of any kind. ( but get winter mats on here ).

The seats need nothing.

Save your money.

And don't buy the added warranty either. You can do that in the 35Th month or at 59,999 KM. The drive train is 5 years or 160,000 km. You will pay 3 or 5 years in advance and it will not add anything at trade in.

And no paint protection either. What a scam.

Since the Camaro is my daily driver I cant really put her fully away in the winter. I can walk to work everyday, but I have to go to the store on occassian. I'm gonna try and borrow my old man's challenger since he's got all seasons on his.

Tell you what.... Our 4x4 f150 with all seasons.... did GARBAGE out there compared to our FwD pontiac montana van... on winters. That thing handled sooooo fantastic it's ridiculous... not even the best winters... (its a mini van with what 185 hp?) lol... But Wow... night and day.

Tires make all the difference in the world...

and.... don't even consider summers. Already had a nearly terrible terrible experience with those pirelli pzero's on the maro.. pulling out of a parking lot to get it home the first really cold night that hit. I wasn't anticipating to be stuck out so long.. didn't make it before the temperature dropped... it was like watching a newbie learn to ice skate.... that moment where they lose all traction and do the running man... I think thats what my Camaro felt like. spun the back end into the next lane to my right, and managed to regain control & swing it back in line about an inch before hitting a barrier on my left..

don't trash the pop's chally
