That sounds like fun. When do you guys do this and what does it cost? (I'm assuming it's not free, anyway).

It has stopped for the winter now,but once it starts again in the spring there will be more than a few of us going down on Wednesday nights. Starts around 4-4:30 and it's $30 for all the runs you can fit in-not $30 per run. Some days it's crowded others not so much. It really is fun,and legal. It's run by the CSP and they have police cars and bikes running too. Only time I know when you can blast away from a cop and not get ticketed.

I'm in!!!!

Trooper pulled me over yesterday cause he couldn't see my temp tags. Very nice guy. Asked me how fast I have had the car up too. I didn't have the heart to tell him. He might be recording me.

Hehe... yeah, sounds like a trick question Honestly he probably was just curious, but no point in taking chances. I've been being good for the most part. I think my fastest was up to about 85 on I-25 (yeah, I know, I'm a rebel! ). I suspect this car really starts feeling good at about 90 or 95. My camaro is going to be my DD, though, so I can't afford to get speeding tickets. Need to get those Pirelli's off and get some decent all-season tires on, that's going to be expensive enough without putting speeding tickets on top of it.

I've thrown on studded snows when the weathers bad, usually stay on for a few days after the snow. Extra set of rims. Might seem like a pain in the azz but when It snows I know I havce bit. As far as speeds there are a few here who have taken it to the limmit and some who have gone further. Check dons post he's not shy!

Wider PZeroes on my Stock wheels

The speedo is not effected by this change. The stock rears are 28.6" diameter, the 305's are 28.4" diameter. But the stock tires were 1 mph off on the speedo compared to my GPS. But now with the 305's the speedo reads exactly the same as my GPS. The tires ride very smooth and corner extremely well. There are no clearance issues.

If you look back at post #853, on page 35 of this thread, I hit 186 at 6300 rpm's in 5th
gear.

Wow. That's pretty good. Did it ever get squirrelly on you or did it stay solid?

Stayed solid, no wind noise in cab either. Don't know if GFX helped or not, but it probably didn't hurt.

I did have a chance to open it up in northern N.M at around 7 a.m.
this morning, the temp was 20 degrees I could see for ten miles and not
a car in sight. I ran it up to about 6300 rpms in 5th gear. The pic below
shows the top speed recorded on my GPS. I am amazed that
the car doesn't get at all light at that speed. This car is hardley shaped like the Corvette,
the nose being as blunt as it is, I wouldn't think it was that aerodynamic.
No wind noise, doesn't get squirrely, just sticks and goes. By the way,
the front gfx chin spoiler is still there, I guess they figured out
how to keep it from falling off. I'd love to take it to the Texas Mile. I dare someone to Beat that!!!!
Pretty good? That amazing.....

No pressure, but now I expect we should have maximum acceleration/stopping/lateral G-Force #s from you, along with lap times to support benefits before summertime rolls around. LOL
