I'm sorry if this has already been posted, and I know that this is an unfair fight.. but it's still a good video by Motortrend.

Here is the sad part......you pay 50,000 for a GT500, and just 33,000-36,000 out the door the Camaro SS, yet the GT500 only won that race by a tenth of a second. If I was in that GT500 I'd be embarrassed.

GT500 1/4: 12.8 @ 115.3mph
2010 Camaro SS: 12.9 @ 110.7mph

When the Motor Trend guy says "you get what you pay for with the GT500", after seeing that race, I can only laugh. 50,000 just for that? I'm sorry when it comes to bang for buck, Chevy has Ford beat. I can buy a cheaper and otherwise better looking car, which is just as fast as the GT500.

If thats all the GT500 can do against an SS, when the Z28 comes out, your gonna see a beating on the level of Hennessey's Camaro.

Don't get me wrong. The GT500 may win overall down the line, but the selling points for me are price and design. I think the GT500 is a good looking car, but I think the camaro looks a lot nicer. You guys can go into your epeen measuring contest with all your stats, but for me pricewise camaro SS > GT500, and looks camaro SS > GT500.

Bottom line: If I had the money I'd have both.

Come on people. The GT500 has the SS in that scenario by 5mph. That is significant, so lets not kid ourselves. The GT500 is a faster car, BUT is should be considering your paying about 15K more. That is also very significant. You decide what is the better value.

Hell, put a supercharger on an SS and it would still beat the GT500.
