Question about spoiler installation...

Hi guys. So I got my spoiler from Carbon By Design which is the same one as Unrestricted Motorsports. It mounts in the factory mounting holes, however since my Camaro is an LS there are no factory mounting holes. does anyone know where I could find a template for drilling those holes? i e-mailed Carbon By Design and they said they couldnt help me.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Your dealer should have one.
I knwo that some other companies with spoilers actually provide the template. Perhaps one could jump in here and help out a fellow forum member!!!

Yeah that would be great. I will check with my dealer and would be willing to pay shipping and whatever the cost is to get the paper template to drill this. Thanks.

I installed the NLP spoiler on my non-rs 2lt and they supplied a template.

If your spoiler uses the factory mounting holes I would remove the 4 rubber plugs from the underside of the trunk lid (2 each side) They are the location for the factory mounting. I would carefully center a pilot bit and drill up thru the lid, this will give you the 4 outer bolt locations.

From there I think you could measure to the 2 center bolt locations and drill down. You need to remove 4 plastic fasteners and trunk latch cover to pull down the felt lid liner to get to these from the under side.

I drilled with no problems.

Normally if a vehicle doesn't have the OEM holes already from an excisting spoiler the manufacture should supply T-straps. The T-straps are inserted into the holes on the spoiler and have two ends that you would tape to the car while prefitting the spoiler in place. After you tape them to the car, you remove the spoiler and the t-straps mark where the hole needs to be drilled. it's harder to expalin, so I'll try to put up a picture for you.

I do man but when I saw the CBD spoiler I had to have it. Its the closest thing to a 1st gen spoiler we have available and my end goal is a complete retro look so this is the only spoiler that fits that look.
