Ok i'll start lol.

The new taurus is pretty dang nice but the new malibu is really nice too. It would be cool so the a upgraded malibu of some sort to compete with the SHO. They could call it a Chevelle, but a 4 door chevelle would be a disgrace.

As far as the fusion vs the colvalt I would have to say the fusion wins hands down. The cobalt ss is a fun car for sure but the safety ratings arent the greatest and it could use a redesign. It has been quite awhile since they revamped its looks.

As far as the GT vs SS all I can say is that battle is back and honestly it will be very close and in the real world will probably be a drivers race.

Fusion vs. Malibu- I'll take the malibu, styling and comfort.

Taurus vs. Impala- Taurus is nicer looking and more advanced, but I still think the Impala is more comfortable.

As for Focus vs. Cobalt- Since you compared a 2011 mustang to a 2010 Camaro, I'll compare a 2010 focus to a 2011 Cruze and give the win to the Cruze.

Mustang is ugly IMO and I think will be slower than the SS

Now how about
2010 Equinox
2010 Traverse
2010 Corvette?????

First, you didn't blunty say the Taurus is better than the Malibu, but considering your post in the thread that gave you the idea to start this thread...

Why is the Taurus better than the Malibu, but the Fusion is better than the Cobalt? You seemed to base the taurus being better than the malibu because of the SHO's superior performance capabilities, yet the Cobalt SS didn't get the win from you because of its superior performance capabilities?

You're comparing the 2011 GT against a 2010 Camaro? How about comparing the same model year, or I could just say compare the 2012 Camaro against the 2011 GT using your logic.

IMO:

Taurus > Malibu
Fusion = Cobalt
2010 SS > 2010 GT

I dont know how anyone can compare the fusion and cobalt. One has a good perforemance engine, and the other has outstanding mpg.

You guys like me know when you can get those Malibus and Impalas running in the 12's with just a tune like the SHO.

The Malibu's and Taurus's target markets are buyers who are focused on good transportation, good MPG, and good interior options, and I would say most don't really care about its performance capabilities.

Then the Fusion and Taurus win there as well. It's not worth trying to compare to the Ford product line. There is a reason they are making money.

I'm sure at some point GM will have some better products and then Ford will have better products and the cycle will continue.

The reason they are making money is because of better business decisions made at a better time. It has less to do with a better product. I believe Chevy has a better line-up top to bottom. Ford has 3 cross overs, none of them hold a candle to the Traverse or Equinox. Compare vehicle to vehicle down the line.

Vehicle to vehicle strictly talking about obvious advantage here.....

Taurus vs LaCrosse is close, and LaCrosse has the better basic platform here, but Ford gets Buick in the details and available options. Example? (yeah, it's a Buick, but the Impala is a pointless comparison) LaCrosse's base 3.0L is pointless, but if you step up to the 3.6L the price tag starts creeping up well past where a comparably equipped Taurus. Buick also is missing a SHO counterpart, and as SHO has thus far accounted for more than 10% of total sales and represents the profit leader of the line that is significant.

Camaro vs Mustang is about to get very interesting. To be blunt, unless GM finds some magical exemption from the laws of physics there is no way the SS wont be outrun by the new GT, and with the Mustang receiving meaningful handling upgrades on top of an already well sorted package this could get a little ugly for 2011 dynamically speaking unless Ford's handling engineers really screwed things up here. (my understanding is that the guy who spawned the Track Pack was in charge of 2011 suspension development in general, so I'm guessing a complete let down is unlikely) Still, the fact that the war is back on in full force is good for both brands, and while I suspect it will be at least 2012 before GM can really answer I'm sure they will.

Acadia vs Flex is almost Acadia vs nothing....Flex really isn't a direct competitor and that says it all. I personally like the Flex, but it isn't ever going to be the kind of volume vehicle the Acadia is (yes, I brought a GMC into the war....Acadia is the best of the Lambda's though) Until Explorer gets here GMC has a big leg up on Ford.

Equinox vs Escape is a case of an old Ford showing it's age a bit. Until the new Escape gets here the current model is more of a place holder, hopefully sales hold out until then.

The rest are either too close to call, pointless (who really cares if Focus or Cobalt is better?), or yet to unfold (C2 Focus vs Cruze, etc)
