Pics of our Coolingmist Methanol system install on street brawler package

Our Street brawler package on an L99 Makes 505 RWHP, with the addition of Methanol injection we were safely able to add a smaller pulley and more timing to achieve 545 RWHP.

Methanol is an Octane and fuel adder, and can help safely achieve greater power levels on pump fuel.

We can use this thread as a discussion forum on Methanol so if you have any questions about is and how it works post them here.

Ted.

Ted, is methanol recommended for anything less then the 3.8 pulley. I guess I'm trying to figure out how low I can go without the methanol

Wow 40 rwhp!

How often would the Methanol need to be filled up? Where would you go to fill it up? About how much does something like this cost?

You have a 3.6 now, this one has a 3.4 and Yes Methanol is recommended for a 3.4 as we could not get good power without detonation without it.

Thanks Ted. So like previously asked, how long does Methanol last and what's the danger if it runs out? I'm guessing you can only get this stuff at a tuner shop.

Meth is Pretty easy to find, you can also use Washer fluid and Heet mixed, and substiuted Isopropyl in a pinch.

If you stay out of boost it will last for ever, the tank holds 1.5 gallons and we only used a quart in 10 pulls.

I have methanol injection on the turbocharged Hemi. It only comes on past 7 lbs of boost(or whatever you set it to). It is about 120 octane and will last forever if you never go past your on boost level. Because it is on a turbo setup it is wired to not allow you to go into high(7+, 15 in my case) boost if you are empty. It is wired to the dual stage boost controller as a safety margin although it may be ok to go past 7 lbs without it.

Since it is high octane it allows you to add more boost without detonation and/or add more timing to your current boost level. It will also work in NA applications by allowing you to add more timing also.

It also helps cool the intake air charge depending on your water/meth ratio. More water = more cooling whereas more meth = more octane. I was at a 50/50 mix but will be going to a 70/30(meth/water) mix.

Have you checked with MagnaCharger on whether it is a good idea or not to spray meth into their blower? I know some blower rotors are coated and the methanol can quickly eat away at the lining and fubar your high-dollar blower. If so, it would not be covered under any warranty offered by the supercharger manufacturer.

Ted,
BY who? The manufacture or the you the builder? I am in the process of getting the funds together for the force feed, interested in this concept.
I just sent Simmon Gale at Magnuson an e-mail, will share his thoughts if he reply's.

Thanks,
Mike

i run the aem methanol kit on my camaro...with a 3.6" pulley we put down 580whp seeing only 6psi with my setup. Pretty good imo. I have always been a firm believer in methanol with superchargers. However I would have to disagree on the more water = more cooling idea...ever spill methanol on ur skin by accident...cold huh? Save your time and money and spray 100% methanol. just becareful of rising egt's. since its a higher octane you can run leaner with more timing....but methanol has a much richer stoich ratio which means you will actually be running chemically leaner than what your wideband may be reading. And this in turn can cause high egt's. AND NEVER LET IT RUN OUT.

Ted, are you guys going to make a different mounting setup for the resevoir? Not that I dont think the bungie straps wont hold it, but I think it could be a cleaner mounting setup.

I'll be watching this thread for sure!
