Hey Guys...
Hey everyone... Ive been trolling the site for a week now. Ever since buying a Camaro became to possibility. I've read a ton of great things and I hope to contribute more in the near future.I am days if not one day away from snaggin' me one of these sweet rides. I live in Alpharetta and have driven all over this city looking for the perfect one for me. I think I found it, but I'm a bit hesitant to pull the trigger since it's a manual. It took me an hour in stand still traffic to get over to the dealer and I just kept wondering if this was the right purchase choice in this city. An automatic isn't as much fun, but let's be realistic. If you live in the Atlanta area, there is nothing fun about the traffic and adding a clutch to a 425 hp beast ain't like a stroll in the park. What are your feelings on this... John |

If this is going to be your daily driver, and you sit in a ton of traffic, then yeah I could see your interest in the Auto trans. If it's not, then get the manual for sure. I test drove three Camaros. First Camaro was a V6 with a 6 speed manual and it was an absolute blast. Second Camaro was an SS with the Auto. It was fun due to the added HP, but it wasn't nearly as fun as the 6 speed. The last Camaro I drove was the SS with the 6 speed manual. Man oh man is this the holy grail of fun. The power at the flick of the wrist is beyond words and will put a perma-grin on your face. I'm lucky that my Camaro is a fun weekend toy and not my daily driver. If it was I could see the manual getting a little tiring after a while. Then again, if I owned the Auto, the car would not be nearly as fun to drive and thus my interest and enthusiasm for it would likely diminish. Back in the day, I bought a 94 Z-28 with an auto trans. I drove it one year and the lack of shifting gears bored me. So I traded it in for a 95 Z-28 with a 6 speed and it was one of the best choices I ever made. I knew not to make the same mistake with this new Camaro!

yeah... It's definitely a daily driver. It's not like I haven't owned a manual before. I've had a jeep and an S10 (way back in the day)... I'm more worried about my wife having to drive that mean machine with never have driven a stick before. I WISH it was a weekend car. I should have kept my old POS Durango to drive to work everyday! haha |

That's WAY over priced... But, such a bad car. I like that IO exterior, but being a Dawgs fan... I just don't think I could pull the trigger on that one! ha My family in TN would never let me live that one down... http://www.hondacarland.com/j/i/3179...amaro_2SS.html |

They have came down in price, then. I called them right after they got it in, they wanted $41k. I would imagine that is why it is still there, a month later!

QUOTE] I did something similar, I tested the V6 Auto and it was fun, but I wanted to try out the SS, knowing that was what I really wanted. Then I tested the SS out in the 6 speed manual and that was almost scary but fun. Howevery, I've got a real bad back so driving a manual is really not good for me to do. When my red jewel came in V8 6sp Auto, I parked my truck right in front of it, didn't even test drive it, just went in and started fight for the price. It's been since August 19th, 4 months today and I'm telling you, it is fun to drive every day and I will never get tired of it. Got to keep it out of the rain though, clean up is a bitch on my back so I hop into the minivan on the rainy days. |

have your dealership check down at Legacy in Columbus, they just got a shipment in last week, not sure if IO was in the group or not, but it's worth looking into. They got in another RJT SS/RS with the shipment (mine was the only one) until this new one, and it's a beauty!!!
