The smallest round in the pic is the "little" .50! It's a black tip or AP (armor piercing) projectile load. The slightly bigger round next to it is a 20mm AP round (blue tip). The big daddy in the crowd is a 40MM L/70 round with an anti-aircraft explosive (now inert) projectile resting on top.

These make the 50 BMG look little in comparison!

The gun does break down, to fit in a safe (fits in mine together!) or the case. I don't normally store it with the glass on top as one mistake can cost a bunch of money!

The glass is a Leupold 8.5-20 x 50mm

I can keep groups in under 4" all day long at 600 yards. This is the furthest I can shoot, at a range, around here. Most descent .50's are capable of this at 1000 yards. (not necessarily the shooters!)

One of hardest parts of great distance shooting is the optics. The thickness of the cross-hairs can cover 4" at 1000 yards!

I belong to FCSA http://www.fcsa.org/wwwroot/index.php which is a great place to start if you are interested in fifties!

Was I off or what? I guess without having anything to scale to I was only guessing. 600 yards is awsome I can hit a 10" target at 600 with my .308 but 4" is amazing. I really think I will have to go for the .50. The Ft Bliss rod and gun club is only about thirty minutes from my house and it goes out to 1000 yrds. The only problem is all of the competitions they have hog the range. With my schedual competing is tough to swing.
Take a look at this scope:http://nightforceoptics.com/nightfor..._12-42x56.html

They have really good reticles so they wont block the target. I have leopolds and this is every bit as good optics wise and the magnification is awsome for my near sighted eyes.

Nightforce is the ONLY other glass I own. I can highly recommend them! Just be prepared to pay a premium. Good glass is not cheap, but it's worth it.
I really enjoy shooting my 50. It is my 2nd favorite long gun to shoot, after my highly modified Izmash Saiga 12 gauge!

Nice looking wheels speed!

Guess you aren't parking it for the winter... huh? I assume you only driving it if the roads aren't crappy.

Mine is staying in the garage till springtime. i'll load it in the car trailer and tow it to get more mods done.. but it won't see any salty roads...

I was going to wait until I got the sway bars and a few other goodies in but then I got the call that my wheels came in. So, I decided to take the cover off of the car and down to the shop to see what the new wheels looked like. The roads weren't too bad today and I guess I was a little impatient. It will be going back in about a month when all the bushings and stuff come in. As soon as I got it home it started to sleet and snow. I think we are suppose to get 12" of snow Wed or Thurs. FUN!!!!
