This thread is convoluted and simply a mess which makes it unreadable. It would be better to create a sub-area in the forum where people who own other cars can create whatever threads about their vehicles and so forth saying that they are better then the Camaro and anyone who doesn't want to join the conversation leaves that area alone. (I know there exists the VS. area, which is a good place, however its main competitor Ford Mustang needs its own area..)

My take on Mustangs is that the new 2011 Mustang with its 5.0 and much lower weight than the Camaro SS is a great thing for the muscle car industry. It means that Chevy needs to one up it or it will eventually lose lots of races on the track and potential customers who want speed for the money. Currently the Camaro is the best bang for the buck however that title once passed to the Mustang GT is going to be hard to get back. Especially since the Camaro's main issue is its weight. In the past the Mustang sold more GT's than Camaro Z28's while the Camaro was faster on the track. It seems next year things might be reversed. I think the Mustang needs a complete refresh for 2011 in looks as it did in 2006. I surely hope the new Mustang 2011 does not look at all like the 2010's do. If anything, the 2011 Mustang needs to look like the original concept, or the GT500KR hood and all. It simply needs to look like a classic in order to compete looks wise with the Camaro. All this is good for the muscle car industry and lets hope the Camaro team is coming up with a way to get back the crown in 2012...Perhaps the LS4 will be 500HP..

As for the vote on the top pf the page, it is incomplete. I need to see what the 2011 Mustang GT looks like first before any comparisons between it and the Camaro SS..

ehem so yea... having a track pack is a factory option so it's not unfair in any way OK?

i guess everyone's 2SS is unfair to the 1SS's :o

if i check a box with my CAR MANUFACTURER for an option it is considered STOCK.

Yep a convoluted mess just like most of the mustang threads turn into at some point as well as most of them getting off-topic. Once again if you would like detailed organized Mustang information, there are plenty of mustang forums. Now imagine if everyone starts complaining about how they cant get Mustang information on here. That would be wonderful because then maybe they will go to the correct source for Mustang information. There are individual threads still open about Mustangs that don't follow the redundant pattern. Long story short Mustang tried to get it's own sub forum here a long time ago Tran said no...so there is no more discussion on that matter as he is the owner of the site. The rest of us mods will merge the majority of Mustang info into this thread. If one would like a better Mustang experience feel free to visit a Mustang forum and check their Mustang vs. Camaro sub forum.

There is no difference between camaro/mustang/or challenger. they are all gasoline powered, 4 passenger, very heavy cars with slightly different mechanical mechanisms to move them. the differences are so minor, that they get classified in the same category i.e. musclecars. the technology in all these cars are very old and ancient. pistons/pushrods/gasoline/motor oil. nothing revolutionary at all. I love the musclecars for what they stand for. They just stand for being illogical. Its just a very, very old fashioned toy nothing more.
