You do not need to remove the radio. the wiring harness that goes to the radio is already in place, near the e-brake. However, you will need to have the radio software updated so that it will recognize the PDIM.

EDIT: Page 2, post 37 has the installation instructions.

Cool!!! Are you going to install the module yourself or have your local dealer do it all?

Nice!!! Hopefully you are more patient than I am with the console. I know I was cussing at my poor car for the better part of 30 minutes

Let us know the outcome!

Has anyone had issues with this recently or is the update working for everyone? I had mine installed today while I had my amp and sub installed. However it does not work at all. Radio does not recognize it at all. Doesn't play even with controlling it with IPOD, and it doesn't even charge. Is this just a software update issue? I was shocked it didn't at least charge. I am going to the dealer tomorrow to hopefully get the update, but I am worried it is more then that.

Your dealer installed the PDIM? Did they program/update the radio? The PDIM won't be recognized until the radio is programmed.

What kind and generation of iPod are you connecting to it?

you shouldn't worry to much MEY, it probably just needs the correct programming. ipod touch should work just fine.

My Uncle works at a dealer and was supposed to get it done today so I dropped it off this morning. However they never go to it so I still don't know. He promises first thing in the morning though.

Dang, you got the hook up! The update should take about 40 minutes but it could take longer. You'll be rockin' out with your Ipod shortly

Well it did take longer. Once he did the update it still did not work. The Ipod wasn't even charging. So I went back to the guy that installed it and he had to tear back into it and found something he did not get connected good. But once he got that done it all worked.
