EDOG, What time are you all departing Savannah? There are a few of us from Fayetteville, N.C. are driving down on Friday to Valdosta. Would be nice to meet up and cruz in together. I am assuming you are going down to Jacksonville, across I-10 and then up to Valdosta, correct?

That sounds like a great ride! I think we will have a blast at the C5Fest. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Have you come out to any of the photo shoots we have had this year with Tim and Michelle? If not check out the threads in the Mid-Atlantic section. You can meet many more enthusiast from our area.

So far this is the fastest route, so it is the route of choice. There is one other route also outside of Savannah, but it does not look as fast. Saves miles, but 20 minutes longer. This might be an option if it is not littered with lights. It brings us through Atlanta, then down to Valdosta.

As far as the time we will leave Savannah...Around 8:00am to put us in Valdosta around 1:00 - 1:30pm. It gives us some breathing room also just in case there is traffic or other issues along the way.

If we have to make up time we can always test out our cars for endurance. If we see Ga's finest we can all split different directions and see who they catch first...

tnspd, if you can let me know who the others are. I will post them on the link to get an idea of how many people we are looking at cruising in with. If anyone changes their minds we can take them off as well.

He's right about having too many stops. Every 2 to 3 hrs is plenty as long as you won't be drinking a BIG GULP lol

(Map on 1st page updated) You guys still have plenty of time to plan stops, routes, etc. When you have hard times I'll update the map as we go.

Something else I wanted to mention... 20-30 or even more cars in a caravan is COOOOL! But you start getting a snap-the-whip effect. The lead car can be running 70 and the last cars are running sometimes 40, then 90 to keep with the group. Make tight groups of 5 or so cars that want to run the same speed, and don't worry about keeping up, you can all get back together at the lunch break. Just make sure the leader of your group knows where he's going
Thanks, this make a lot of sense. I should have times as we get a little closer and finalize the route.

For all you guys n gals heading up convoys, the map is just a visual for others, and the times are all up to you. Feel free to edit your times as you go, and I'll update the map occasionally.
For the rest of the bunch, if you're planning on running with one of the groups, be sure and contact the organizer of that group and give him/her your contact info so you don't get left waiting on the side of the road because plans changed at the last minute.

Communication is the obvious clutch to this process. It might be a good idea to list your methods.

CB, FRS, Cell - whatever. Please keep it in-house and localized. Don't want people's cell#'s ending up on C5-Boards. 1320junkie will be drunk-dialing you all for sure!!

I will add you both to the master list on page one for meeting up in ATL. Whom ever started the OKC group will have to add you to the beginning of the OKC group!

I could not agree more... there is always onstar but that may get pricey... My vote is for just using the cell phones. Have "group leaders" that can be in contact with other groups that they are joining. Also members of a specific group can have the number for the leader. That way there isnt 25 different people with your phone number if you are not the leader...
