If you are in front of the car and open the hood, over to the left side and down is a sticker on the suspension with a date and time. People are mistakenly referring to that as their build date. It is not.

There should be a sticker on the inside of the frame of the left door well. That sitcker has the Vin# and the build date.

There is a sticker under the hood on the passenger side frame rail. Mine states, 8/28/09. There is another on the frame in the back, Mine states 8/29/09. I just looked at the one on the back of the drivers door. It just says 8/09. I think the rear frame gets built the day before assembly. But, haven't heard any confirmation on that.

Ok here's the key ..when did you receive your VIN # ? If you were given the # on the 31st of August from your dealer then your car was assigned its VIN # either the 28th or 29th in the trim dept. The 08/09 on the inner door only lets you know the month and year of production build. The broadcast dates are for production control/scheduling in order to have your Camaro parts ready for your car ( sometime that week ) . Now based on your info i'd say your car was framed (bodyshop) on the 27th , Paint the 28th , Trim/Hardware the 29th and rolloff ( Chassis ) the 31st. Its about as close as i can target your build info. Super60 |
