Tangorover, WAIT!!!!!!!!! for starters, your combo is a GREAT ONE, had I known about it, that is what I would be driving........and there is nothing like getting a car that is ordered ESPECIALLY for YOU. the wait will be more that worth it.........

just wait its really not that bad. i order mine in early october and will be taking delivery most likely 1st week of jan. and it really doesnt seem like its been that long, if you've been waiting for over a year for that summit white with the iom stripe or whatever, order it and wait you will be much happier overall then getting a different one off the lot.

I know I thought about taking one off the lot, but I finally convinced myself to wait and it was worth the wait. I've never regretted it. Patience.

I bought off the lot back on May 16, took delivery May 22, with no regrets. Back then it was if it has everything you wanted and the color was one of your better choices then go for it rather than risk a long order process while GM was in bankruptcy. Obviously very different now - you can search for availability near & far and see if a Dealer has what you want or close enough.

+1 ![]() 100% AGREED with what everyone says...I ordered mine 1/2/09, and took delivery on 5/19/09...I only joined the forum about a week before my car got here, but in that short amount of time, I spent as much time on here as I could to get my 'Camaro fix', until the 'real thing' arrived... ![]() Stay strong and hang in there, bud......the wait is soooooooo worth it!!!...you will not regret it!!!...just ask anyone here that custom-ordered their car if they wished they changed their mind and bought one off the lot... That is in no way to say that buying one off the lot is a mistake...the OP is just asking what he should do since he already ordered one and the one he test drove is NOT the color he originally ordered...JMHO!!!!...

Waiting for your perfect car is definitely worth it. Yes, it's hard to wait, but the anticipation is part of the excitement. The tracking site will help you stay informed of the car's progress. After my ABM LS was on the railcar I was able to track it each day as it crossed the country. Two days after it arrived in Portland I headed down to the dealership and I got there just minutes after the car rolled down the truck's ramp. Factory fresh, seats covered in plastic, body in protective covers. Now THAT is one terrific and exciting moment that you don't want to miss. Don't settle for one of the demo cars. The white Camaros are absolutely stunning. Hang in there and in a couple of months you'll be thanking your lucky stars. |

Hey tangorover - same boat, hang in there. My LS was ordered Nov. 7, supposed to go "into production" per dealer on Jan. 11. I read somewhere that is also when Oshawa goes back to work so maybe they will start with V-6's to warm up:-). Hoping for delivery by end of Jan.
Using extra time to research and decide on first two mods (1) black hockey stripe w/ single hood/trunk stripe and (2) Flowmaster Axle-back Exhaust (Model 817483). Later I want to add a set of white LED fogs lights. And perhaps a short-throw shifter but I want to get a lot of miles and experience with the stock car first. Do you have any "early" mods in mind? Hope yours is delivered fast and runs fast too! |

Courtesy Chevy in San Jose. I had a good experience but thats probably cause I looked like I had done all my research for the car. They are doing MSRP for me so im happy. Did start a conversation about anything less than MSRP but was kinda shot down and I dont mind that. This is really my first "real" experience at a American Car Dealer and It was kinda good to talk to people who seemed like they were passionate about cars rather than your usual IT dropout Bay Area car sales man (you know their type :-) )

I waited 138 days for my Imperial Blure Metallic with Silver Stipes 2SS and it was well worth it. The car came in perfect in every respect. I looked at several on the lot during that period but they did not meet my expectations. Beside who wants a car with drool all over it. Wait for the one you ordered!

All of the R6P members on C5 like me waited the better part of 6 months after placing their orders. How to pass the time? Suggestion: Read this site every day; every minute if you have to, and learn about what to expect and how to take care of your Camaro. Just about all of this information is relevant unless it comes from me. Good luck! Waiting for a custom order car is the most intelligent thing you can do. Since you've already test drove one, you are WAY ahead of the game. You already know if you'll like it or not.
