since this thread is dedicated to the z/28 i wana get some opinions.
if the z/28 does come out would u guys rather it badged like it did in 1969 being Z/28. or would u guys like it to be badged 1970-2002 being Z28. i personaly would like gm to stick the hearatige of the 69 and give it the Z/28 badge.

I like your idea but it just looks too retro' to me. If they could come up with something else along those lines, I think I'd be interested. Either way, I'd be happy with a Z28

If I remember correctly, there was an entire thread complete with a poll about which way we would like to see the emblem. And I still feel the same way I always have, I prefer Z/28.

This stupid thought line is a rehash over everything that's already been said. Read the Freakin thread.

These types of posts drive a rift between members and push people, that would share in your enthusiasm about the car (SS) you're getting, away. And it makes me thankful that I won't be able to check this forum, for a long time, after next week. I don't enjoy seeing and having people tell me and others what we should and should not want. Especially after I shared in their enthusiasm over what they wanted.


Jixer- If you want a poser Z28 go right on ahead. but I highly doubt you even know what the heritage is behind the Z28. you probably think it's more power and that's why you want to make it. I don't care but understand that it's just a poser and if i see one at a car show I will personally laugh at the owner if he doesn't know the true heritage behind the Z. so you better do it right instead of just slap a supercharger on it.

Z28, Z/28, Z/XXVIII, Z-28, Z/28 but instead of a hash mark make it a lightning bolt. Especially if they make it with an electric motor. The lightning bolt would signify electricity.

Leave the heritage stuff in the past. that way it stays original. Change the design with the times and think a little out side the box.

Are they being ungrateful or just expressing concern for wanting what they feel is an integral part of the Camaro in general? We already know you feel they are being ungrateful, I see it a different way than you, the Z/28 has meant something very special to me since 1967, I was finally able to buy a Z/28 in '69. I don't necessarily agree with what many other people want in a new Z/28 (such as 550 or 600 HP), but I would like to see a new 5th gen. Z/28 at some point and would like to see it follow the heritage of the original Z/28, outstanding handling package with a good high performance engine, a road course type of car that is streetable. It does not have to be the fastest car in a quarter mile, but it should handle the twisties. Am I upset that you do not agree with me or that others seem to be oriented towards sheer horsepower? No, we are after all only sharing our thoughts about what we each want. Buy a 2010 SS if that makes you happy, wait and see if a Z/28 appears if that makes you happy, buy a Mustang if that makes you happy, do whatever you wish, but please be considerate of other's opinions while doing so.

So respect each other's opinions and desires. There's an emotional attachment to the Z28 that is incomprehensible to some. And then, there's the cold, hard logic that says a SS with mods is not much different than a Z28 besides a waranty. That argument also holds water. So don't fight over it, please.

I'll be watching further posts very carefully. There's no reason to get nasty -- and if someone does, the post gets deleted...simple as that.
