18 years old and a new 2SS

I worked my ass off from 13-17 and by 18 all I had was a 72 Cutlass.

Not hating, just find it very hard to believe an 18 year old has a 25k 82 T/A, a 68 SS and a motorcycle...and doesn't need parental support to buy a 2SS.

Why do people insult others intelligence?

I make just under a 6 figure salary with a $1300 mortgage and it took me 21 years after 18 to get a 67 and 68 Firebird, a Harley and my Maro.

I must be doing something totally wrong.

I too would like a pic of the cars and motorcycle together....or a pic of the car and motorcycle registrations together with the address, VIN and plate numbers blocked out. Otherwise I call

I'm sure he's got more than that, but in actuality not much is required. And yes, I worked at AT&T for 6 years so I experienced this first hand. I ran second and third tier support for all the servers in Western Canada.

Over the years I've seen many threads like this on many forums...unfortunately they tend to never end well.

Some funny ones... One was a 40+ year old guy who truly epitomized the term 'loser'...made Steve Carrells character in 40 year old virgin look like a stud.

Another was a 16 year old who was passing off his parents cars/house/etc off as his own.


To the OP...If you're a 'tech', you shouldn't have to 'read up' on how to post pictures or 'bust out' the digital camera. Grab your phone, head out to the garage, and post up. Shut every one up....it's pretty easy to do. I'm not calling you out, just giving you some good advice on ending this before it really gets started.

To the OP I mean this in the nicest way, but we've seen this dog and pony show before.

I made way more than you probably do when I was 19ish and could never afford all that stuff. Well I guess maybe I could if my folks paid for literally everything else (including going out with my friends and stuff like that). You're an entry level tech, they are paying you $10-$12 an hour at the most, you would need to be making at least $25 an hour with no expenses to afford this stuff or working so much overtime you wouldn't see daylight ever.

The more likely stories here are

a) he made all this up and owns a civic with "phat rims yo"
b) the 68 is dads, the 82 is a rustbucket, the bike is one of those pocket bikes, and the 2010 is moms
c) mom and dad bought all of it
d) parents invested all of his money that he got for birthday, xmas, confirmation, bar mitzvah, etc whatever his whole life and let it out at 18 and now hes lighting it all on fire (I've seen this alot).

Most importantly though I hope whatever he is driving he is safe, I see hwo he talks of his experience with high hp cars... Trust us when we tell you if you need to say it like that, you have no clue. Be careful out there.

I beg to differ.....I started as an AT&T tech, cable splicers and repair techs start at about $24 an hour and end up at about $30 an hour not including OT....the second year I was with them and worked my butt off.....lots of OT.....I made over $110,000.... I'm an engineer now...so it can be done. I'm not saying the OP isn't getting a little help from somewhere else, but the AT&T tech position could make some bank if you work hard!
