It'll either catch me and walk away from me or the Camaro will slowly walk away from it.
Well, now that you bring it up, I believe the auto Camaro engines make even less torque than their manual counterparts, so you might be at an even greater disadvantage. Of course, the 2011 Mustang will offer a 6-speed auto, as well.

At first, I thought the same thing, however, after owning both, the new bodylines have grown on me. I actually find myself liking the 2010-up version better. Go figure.

Keeping things on topic, there is no doubt the 2011 Mustang looks to be the best competition for the Camaro, to-date. We'll just have to see how long it remains that way.

I dont know what the 2011 camaro will bring to the table, I heard more aggressive gearing though. Until we have a curb weight and a price point, I will with hold judgement. But the 2010 GT premieum with the trackpack cost just over $35,000 (I think the GT premieum is required to equipt the track pack, but I could be wrong) While a 1SS cost just 31k. It seems the 2011 mustang is going to get real pricey, real fast.

Food for thought. You'll notice that right now there is no Track Pack availability for the Mustang, largely because an improved version of the Track Pack we get on the 2010 will be standard on the 2011 Mustang GT.

The Chevelle is in great shape , the Camaro was a barn find im restoring.
Any idea what the TANG is getting for gears? Our better yet tires since its big brother cant even get a big pair out back?

I hear they are staying with the 3:31 gears in the GT but you can always opt for 3.73's without having to get the track pac option. I have no idea on the tires.

And yes, I agree, big brother could certainly use some bigger/stickier meats out back. The stock 285/35-19 Goodyear F1's just don't cut it. I'm in the process of determining what it is going to take to get some 345/30-19's under the car.

So far, it's looking like nothing that drastic to make them fit. I'll know more when I get my 19x12 mock-up wheels delivered and I play with them a bit.

Well, I built a 2010 GT Premium with the TrackPac option that is an equivalent to the $31.5K 1SS, in terms of features, for $33.4, so they are really close on price.

Plus the 2010 GT can be had for way less than MSRP (there are some discounts, no?) and 0% financing (right?) so it is actually cheaper with all of the incentives.

Well, there is a lot more talk and articles being written that the new stock Mustang GT will be over 3800lbs now. This is spreading in the Mustang forums and in articles. So, the latest Ford news maybe correct about the weight.

While it could be possible, I don't see the GT weighing as much as my 2007 GT500 did with a T6060 (heavy) 6-speed, supercharger (heavy), cast iron 5.4L block (really heavy) and all the other assorted performance upgrades. That car weighed 3850 w/o driver. My current car weighs 3910 w/o driver and that's with the turbos and all the extra hardware associated with them in place.

I think I'll just wait until the offical numbers come out rather than speculating at this point.

Sure, but I doubt you will find the same incentives on the 2011 when it hits the showrooms.
