If you are storing your Camaro!!!

OK, so I stored my Camaro about 2 months ago:upset: Me being a dumbass did not call my insurance company to find out if there is discount for storing the car. Well there is, and I could have saved some money. So if you did store your vehicle and not called you insurance company, do it. See what they offer, it might save you some of that green for mods in the spring.

They told me "call us when you store it for the winter and call us when you put it back on the road". HUGE savings.

Yeah when I got my Camaro I put my AWD truck in the garage and took the insurance off it. When the snow reared it's head I put the Camaro in the garage and switched the insurance. That way I only pay for one at a time.

Most companies offer some sort of storage rate. HUGE savings. State Farm has full comprehensive even when it's in storage. Its pretty sly. Say for instance a big tree flattens your garage and car while you have it stored, car is still covered. Or garage gets hit by a runaway steamroller and car gets flattened. Still covered.

Well it still has the theft and destruction coverage.... it's just got to be left in the garage.

Yes you are, it still will have coverage just not collsion. Meaning it will have comprehensive and as long as its parked thats all it needs. It essence you aren't really taking insurance off of it you are just taking off the coverage which is 80% of the premium price.

I did it

Old hat for me, too but not everyone knows so lighten up, Francis.

I have heard of some financial institutions not allowing you to drop the full coverage because you could change your mind on one nice day or a vehicle breakdown emergency and blow it all in a minute. Better to not even ask the lender. Most will say no if you ask. They don't trust you with all that $.
