kinda reminds me of the episode of the simpsons where homer is looking at a new car and the mob is taking sniper shots at him, hitting the car, homer asks "what are the holes for?" and the salesman says "uhh speed holes, they make the car go faster" and homer replies "faster ehh?"

I'm sure there is some rule against it. Gotta have the cars looking pretty.

I think it was 1970, Richard Petty tried to use a Roof Covering that looked like the Vinal Roofs of the era. It was found to give him an advantage and they had him remove it.

Or so the story goes.

You are wasting your money if you add premium to an engine designed for 87 octane.
If you want a fuzzy good feeling, add premium, that's about all you get.

Normally I use 87 octane but prior to storing it for the winter I filled it with 89 octane thinking that after 5 months of storage it might loose a couple octane points.

I see a lot more "Spark Retard" which is apparently from the knock sensors when I run 87 octane vs when I run 91... Yes, you can run 87 octane in the V6 but only because the knock sensors are doing their job and pulling timing.. With higher octane the knock sensors in theory should be pulling less timing meaning better performance... I haven't proven this scientifically but my causal observations are their is some benefit to higher octane.. With todays adaptive computers and knock sensors just because a car doesn't require premium fuel doesn't mean it can't take advantage of it...

NASCAR will make dimples mandatory as soon as the France family finds a way to make money with it.
