So is there a definitive answer to why the thread title was changed? Is a battery disconnect necessary for an LS3 or will a fuse pull be sufficient? What settings are lost with a battery disconnect (radio, bluetooth, etc)?

so how long must both fuses be out? i just installed a cai and i really am not sure what gas the dealer put in but I have always put 93 in. Do you need the fuses out for the whole night? or just a few hrs? i dont see how time effects something that is on a fuse.

If there is a capacitor in the circuit, time allows any remaining power to bleed off. Too short and the chip will never see a lack of power.

Reset my LS3 and there is a noticeable improvement.
Been waiting to get a couple tanks of 93 through the system since my dealer filled it with 89 when new (said car doesn't need premium, so no need to waste money on higher octane).

I let mine sit for about 3 hrs. Maybe I didn't have to but it worked. The 'butt dyno' didn't register as much as the full second improvement.

Ok Guys, heres the results:
Before Fuse pull TC - 6.04 TC Off - 6.24 Comp Mode - 5.71 After Fuse Pull - Sat for almost 4 days with Fuses pulled. TC - 6.03 TC Off - 6.25 Comp Mode - 5.72 I did several runs and all modes were within a couple tenths. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't me or the watch getting very different readings. This seems slow compared to the other numbers I have seen posted by other members as well as GM having Camaros with no Issues. |

you listed your best time at 5.7, I think my best time when stock was around 5.5. Also how are you timing it, with a GPS device or accelerometer ?

With a handheld Stopwatch. That was the whole purpose of making several runs at each mode to determine consistency.
From what I have read, I should be around the 4.6-4.7 area as what GM touted in the mags and what most people are sayin on the boards for a normal situation. So 6+ seconds is way off and in the LS range. |

Ok have you been getting your gas at the same gas station? What brand?
I actually had issues after GM fixed my car, the next time I went to the station I was using the car slowed down again. So I ran that tank out, went to a different station filled up and then did the fuse pull over night. Car has been fast ever since and do not use the other station anymore. |

Drove my car last night for the first time in three weeks. Outside temp was about three degrees. No sign that the significant improvement I noticed after the dealer cleared memory for a air bag warning light fix has deteriorated. It was a rocket last night. I really think gasoline brands is an issue. After I did the fuse pull in early September, I used Speedway high octane several times. Since my dealer worked on the car a month ago, only BP and Shell. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
