The Camaro is a great deal. Best bang for the buck muscle car. Read the reviews in the car mags. That's one of their first comments in most reviews.

On the other hand, I don't think there are too many Audis or Lexus models at the Camaro's price point, especially if you are looking at V6 models. Lexus makes some fine cars, but they aren't American muscle cars and lack the character of the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger. I've looked at each of them, and the Camaro is the nicest of the three.
Price isn't the problem here, i am getting the V6 because i am known as a speed freak and not allowed to buy a V8 with 426 HP car so i dont get my self killed in some street race......or something, and 300 HP from a V6 is nice.

I had the choice between 2010 Lexus ISF, 2010 Audi A5, 2010 Mercedes C300 and other cars, among them the camaro, but I went with the camaro and dont regret it a single bit
I'm 19 aswell and its my first car and will be my car for next coming years, i'd say after test driving cars above, camaro was an easy decision!!

I think it is completely worth the money, and if you are worried about it breaking down and things like that in the five years you are going to have it, dont worry about it, the cars are excellently built and should very easily surpass the five year mark, however just in case the need a little somthing, they do come standard with five year 100k mile powertrain, and a full five year warranty is less than $2 (1700 in my case).
its a great feeling car, and the engine and transmission are really smooth, i also love the interior exhaust note of the LLT. great cars, and the RS headlights, are exceptional, they make it very hard to go back to halogens

well, for most 19-year-olds I know, a used Toyota Carolla is more than good enough, so I guess I'd say "yes, the Camaro is good enough"

actually I think it's a bargain for what you get . . . I'm hoping to get one later this year as my daily driver and I'm counting on it to be reliable for at least 5 years . . . so in my judgment it is a "better deal" than some of the other cars you mentioned, but it all depends on what means "better" to you

Ok, time to get serious.

First, welcome to the forum. As you can probably guess, most here will tell you that getting a Camaro over XXXX is the right decision. I'm assuming you will be buying it overseas as your location says Kuwait. Have the people recommending cars to you even saw a Camaro?

They may just be recommending familiar cars to you that they think are "safer" for a younger driver. I think the 2LT/RS (yes, GET THE RS) is a perfect first car; I would encourage and help my kids to buy one in a minute if they were old enough to drive.

I use mine as a daily driver but only in nice weather. There's 8" of snow on the ground right now at my house and I will not drive my Camaro in snow. I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to afford an extra car to drive for the winter; albeit just a 2002 V6 Impala LS.

It all comes down to personal preference but I would seriously consider the Camaro if I was you. You will not be disappointed if you buy one.

Actually if you look at his/her tag, they have a 2LT/RS. I have one as well, and I don't think you'd regret getting one. It's hard to describe the feel of sitting in one, let alone driving one...I ordered mine as my daily driver (2LT/RS) in May without having even driven one (just sitting in one was enough). Those other cars you are considering may cost more and have snootier name recognition, but they can't match the feel of a Camaro! And if you read reviews you'll find that the build quality is excellent (almost 5000 miles and I have had 0 issues).

Easy decision - BUY THE CAMARO!!!

But, make sure you are a careful driver since you are young and need to build up some years of experience...I'm not trying to tell you how to drive, I just want you to be safe and enjoy your car for many years to come...

I have the 2LT/RS and it is fast enough for me...sometimes, too fast...lol...

It is the most exciting and fun car I have ever owned in my life, and that includes a Firebird and a Corvette!!!...

If you happen to check out ANY of my many enthusiastic posts on this forum, you will quickly see how much happiness and joy this car has brought me in the 7 months I have been fortunate enough to own it...

I also want to say God Bless You, and thank you for serving and protecting us here at home!!!...

Good luck with your decision...keep us posted, please...

Hey man. I am 17 and test drove the Camaro (LS model) the other day....it is simply AMAZING!!!! The feel of sitting in one and driving one....it doesn't compare to anything else. My only regret is I went and test drove the Camaro before I could afford to buy it...because now I am in love, can't stop thinking about it, and just picture that experience over and over again....in my opinion, the most amazing, beautiful piece of auto-engineering ever made!

CamaroFreako -- if you are in Kuwait in the armed services, I thank you also, and my apologies for not giving you enough respect in my earlier reply; in general I don't think 19-year-olds need a car like the camaro, but if you are over there serving your country then you definitely deserve one when you get back!

And yes they are worth it!
