Scrming,

Your exhaust sounds awesome! You said initially the headers gave the exhaust a raspy sound but they got better after the drive home.
Do you think the ceramic lined headers wouldn't temper and remain raspy?

Boy... I can't be 100% sure... but I think lined headers would loose their raspiness also... they are still going to get pretty hot... Also think getting a good layer of carbon on the pipes helps too....

and thanks!

Was told to stay away from header wrap. It will wear out, hold moisture against the pipes and for the slight gain one might get, it isn't worth it. I was going to wrap mine until that was mentioned.

Of course, I think the wrap looks way cool, lol.

BTW, dyno for sure tomorrow, or some money back! They can't get the fuel system right on the 3rd gen with the huffer on it. So it's tieing up the dyno, damn it!! Lol, oh well, it happens.

Well.... hope you get on the dyno and get some good numbers for the JBA! That way I don't have to load my stock tune back in the car! LOL!

I just got back from my Chevy dealer with the JBA's installed. Bill was $246, very pleased with that! The service manager said the pics I printed from scrming's install helped, thanks John.

On the short trip home I thought it sounded good with the GMPP exhaust, a little lower in note.

I may do a 0-60 run tomorrow with the Matrix just for fun!

You're probably right, for the extra 1-2 hp and 1-2 rwtq I may gain from the ceramic lining I'm just gonna go with the stainless. I live in SC and I don't have to worry about road salt and the salty ocean air shouldn't affect them any.

I know that Eastwood makes a ceramic header coating that comes in a couple of different finishes. It's about 30 bucks for the kit from them and its a spray on.
I wonder how this would work on these JBA's.
Does anyone have experience with this Eastwood product? Their stuff is usually pretty darned good.

Pfft...still no dyno. Maybe today. The 3rd gen is really, really giving them fits. As rpms increase, boost and fuel drops. They are stumped at the moment. They did do a pull while I was there, 550rwtq, 425rwhp. The car smoked the tires on the dyno, it was impressive. I'm going to try again today.
