HELP! My LS3 Camaro is making some wierd noise. - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So my wife and I go to get some Pizza after a chiropractor appointment. Order the pizza on the way, stop by kragen to get some anti-seize and she waits in the car. When I get back in she says "Your car makes a funny noise when its off" WTF? What do you mean "I cant explain it its just a funny noise"

So we get to the pizza place and turn off the car and she says listen

sure enough, WTF is that?

Its coming from the floor board behind the cluster guages. I popped the hood to see if I could hear it from outside the car and I cant. I turn the key without engaging the clutch and it stops, but comes back when Im in the ACC position. go get the pizza get back in still doing it. Drive home turn off the car, still doing it.

Go inside, eat, about 15-20 min later go back out, noise is gone. I turn the car on and off again to see if it comes back. NOTHING.

It sounds like a very fast tapping, sounds like RoboCops gun, seriously but not loud

TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP............ TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP.......... and it keeps going

I am working on uploading the audio clip but youtube is not having it.

LOL!

Well I went and drove for about 5 minutes, got it back up to the same temp and all, and it didnt come back.

and I still cannot figure out how to get the audio clip hosted. it failed on both photobucket and youtube.

It's the muffler bearing relays resetting for the next time you drive it.

Didn't someone make a post before about the head unit making some sort of noise?

How often does it happen? It didnt do it when I went back out and try to reproduce it to get it on video.

That's because they already reset when you heard it the first time.
