I got one, was clocked at 73 in a 55 zone. Told the officer that I only had the car 1 month and that you really can't tell that you are going that fast because the car is so smooth and told him that I usually us the cruse control but just forgot to put it on. He looked the car over really good and said he would be right back. He issued me a ticket for 60 in a 55, told me what a nice car I have and told me to SLOW HER DOWN!!!!

Radar detector is useless if the Police officer is using his radar gun correctly...

1 ticket. Clocked doing 48 in a 25. The jackass in front of me took 1/4 mile and two years to make a left turn. As I took off around him a cop standing behind a bush with a radar gun jumps out and tells me to pull over. At first I thought it was someone crossing the street so I waved him on. Once I saw it was a cop I pulled over.

He did the do you know how fast you were going? Do you know what the speed limit is? He dropped it to doing 45 in 25. (over 20 is reckless and they have to take you in). Afterwards he looked all over the car and said "Really nice car...slow down.

I paid the $168.00 ticket. What pissed me off was I had temp tags on because I was going to transfer my Marine Corps tags. I have never gotten a ticket with my Marine Corps tags.

Yes, unless they use it within a few KM's before you get there... which is usually the case unless its at like 4am.

At the speeds I drive, radar detectors have proven to be all but worthless.

I have been pulled over twice. First time it was 6 days after i got my license. I was racing my friend in his dumb ass honda v tech. Smashed his ass but highway patrol comes out of no where and pulls us both over. He gave me the speech on how dumb i was and gave me a warning for reckless driving. Second time i get pulled over i was at an enter section at night and decided to take off fast with traction control off. I roasted the tires all the way through the enter section. Few seconds later i see those pretty red and blue lights in my rear view mirror=D got a warning for improper start from stop. I had a radar detector both times but they werent shooting radar.

Do any of you guys plead "not guilty" ?. Up here in the No East no one pleads guilty. You plead not guilty by mail and then are given a pleminary plea bargan date. Show up and the charges are reduced and/or dismissed. The last one I got (in my Camaro) was 91 in a 65- It was reduced to seatbelt infraction and paid the fine- 0 points. NEVER PLEAD GUILTY !.

It has been so long since I had a ticket that I didn't really think about it since he dropped it down to 60 in a 55. After I paid the $200 fine I asked if there were any points and the lady said yes, 2. I about S@*T myself, the last ticket I got was years ago for fleeing and aluding (when it was a misdameanor) and it was 2 points so I thought that @ 5 over the speed limit I would only have a fine!! Hope that there is not a next time but if there is I will plee not guilty and see how it unfolds.

So far, I haven't even been pulled over, and I usually drive a steady 5mph faster than the traffic around me if the road's not too crowded.

Got pulled over on I90, 112 in a 65. The Trooper was nice and wrote me up for 87.

It cost me $650 and 8 hours of driving school.

Curious to know what your fine was?

Also interesting to my story... In Illinois reckless driving is 20 over. Between 20 and 24 over the Trooper can use discretion on arrest. 25 over and there is no choice, your going to lockup.
