I saw a Red Jewel 2SS in a parking lot today and it had a custom plate, 426 MSCL which I thought was pretty cool. I walked up to it and looked in the window and it was an L99 A6!!?? Why would someone put a 426 plate on a car that was 400? Did the dealer mislead them, no clue, or just wishful thinking?

If the person is truly that clueless, then they will probably never run into anyone that will know the difference either. Hope they never come up here and post pics. They'll will get ripped to shreds.

You know those types of people that put the "Type R" badges on a riced out Civic that sound like a constipated weed whacker?

Same species, different breed. They're the same ones who put GT fog lamps on a regular Mustangs nose, or R/T or SRT badges on a SE Challenger/Charger.

Maybe the last vehicle he had with that plate on was a Chrysler product with a 426 hemi.

Someone has to be that guy...... LOL.

Unfortunately for the car to continue to be made, it will require NON-enthusiasts to buy it. There are only so many "car-people" and after everyone gets their car, regular people have to buy them to keep the sales up. Lots of people i know have no clue about the details of the vehicle they drive. They would buy the Camaro for thier reasons (Looks, it goes fast, etc).

Maybe he has mods and he now has 426rwhp or he put in a 426 CID engine or something like that. You guys cant assume he is a total dumbass just because he has a A6.
