sounds like someone is bragging a little (a song comes to mind. you should see me online...). . . all I can say is more power to you.

Now I am not saying Yenko didn't have great cars, but the dealers exploited the rules of the COPO program to custom-build the ultimate muscle cars of the time. Today the COPO program isn't around so it is up to people like Hennessey, SLP, Nickey Chicago, ECT to turn out a new generation of muscle cars. So it boils down to who has been around longer, which isn't as important as car performance, what the customer wants and how much he is willing to pay for it.

More and more I'm thinking (I hope I am wrong) the Z/28 (which would be a low volume saling car) GM can not afford it and the push away from oil to other sources of fuel...means it is a long way off, if happens at all.
yenko is no longer a dealer. and the yenkos we saw at sema weren't done by the yenko family.

I know you are wrong on that last paragraph. no matter how we like it there will still be ICE cars around for at least a decade or two. and GM can turn a profit on a Z28. especially if done right.

Yes bragging much. Nothing to brag man you just spend someone else's hard-earned money, and in my opinion not in a wise fashion. What would be wrong with just getting one non daily driver and letting the SS camaro be your DD. Why must you get two? Only you know the answer to that question, haha.
Anyway why get a z28 or a souped up Camaro, when your zr1 will outperform pretty much any camaro package that you can buy.
If I were you I would go talk to a reputable shop in or around your area and tell them what you want and go from there.
Good luck man!

Absolutely. Not the 575 nice part. Just hold out for the Z.

Thank you correcting my freind. In 2009-10-14, General Marketing Capital Incorporated (GMCI) announced its ownership of the Yenko trademark and its plans to revitalize the brand.

I agree the ICE will be around alittle while longer. However, remember back when gas hit 5 bucks a gallon?? People where ditching thier trucks, SUV, boats and hot rods. My point was that like the GT500, Vette and some others, yes there will be a market, but not a large one like they have with the SS today. And with GM stuggling against people like Toyota stealing market share, high end cars like the Z/28 "may or may not" fall victum to the accountants red pen. BUT like I said hope I'm wrong...cause I REALLY want a Z/28 in the garage.

I remember quite well when people were freaking out over nothing. They created the gas shortage. which caused gas to be around $5+. I still stand by the z28 would turn a profit and that is what matters right now and the accountants know this.

although lately my love for the Z28 has come second I still want one in a garage. I want many z28's in garages. but I just want one for myself. I want the car to be successful.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Here's another question.

Z28
ZL575
Henessey HPE(all the models)
Lingenfelter
Tom Henry SCSS
Nickey

.....there's really a bunch to choose from. If you can wait, I'd hold out to see what GM has to offer with the Z28. If you are ready to order, you really need to decide what is best for you...what is most important. If price is a major point, then check out Tom Henry. They are undercutting pretty much everyone price wise. If price isn't an issue, well....you could go sky high with most of these guys (with their different levels).

The SLP Camaro is a great set up. I've purchased many products from SLP over the years. The guys are good....the parts are good...They give the 3 year 36k mile warranty...

We had a guy down here in SA buy a fully loaded SS only to turn around and find out SLP was building their ZL575 car. He traded his SS in and put that money towards his SLP Camaro. From what I heard, he's REALLY happy with it.

Hope that helps.

Second to want??
Heck ya I'd like every Z/28 model put out as well. If they go ahead and put one out..I hope it does well...haha 'cause I'm going to but one. (fingers crossed)
