All this weighting. There is a freind of mine out here that was going to buy the camaro but this one issue on getting the price has him changing him mind. He is now going to be getting the shelby gt500 when we get back. I told him that if he weights for the new one to come out in the fall of 2009 he might as well weight and stay on for the camaro. Hee said that GM has had three years to get this small issue out of the wat. If they cant fix that now then they really dont have there prioritys right.

no, three years is way too much time to make an absolutely perfect car, they sure don't have their priorities right (insert sarcasm alert)

and justfor future reference weight (how much something weighs) wait ( as in you wait a long period of time for something worth it, like the camaro)

Scotty-
Have you heard any of this from GM (other than the Indy folks) ? I went to 3 different dealerships yesterday, and they were all dumbfounded by it. I wasn't surprised, but it would be nice to tell them where to confirm with GM. None of them would talk specifics with me because they thought I was coming in with some crazy internet rumor.

Again, this is just my guess.

I guess im just nervous, I know i am getting what i want and the options i want no matter what, i just like to be prepared and know how much i have to save. Id just be scared that February rolls around and i dont have enough money saved for a downpayment.. then what do i do? and we are all guessing about these prices, what if we are waaaaaaaaaaaay wrong? This is my guess

LS 22,000
LT 23,500
LT2 25,500
RS on LT2 28,500 ( I think a fully loaded LT will have to be cheaper than base ss)

but what if they charge another 1,000 for automatic transmission?

ugh... this is stressin me out.

My wife knew a guy several years ago that ordered an S-10 from a dealer here in town. Once the truck came in the salesman called and told him that there was another customer that was willing to pay more for the truck and that he needed to come up with more cash if he still wanted it. I'm hoping this is an isolated incident? Anyone else heard of something like this happening?

Orders will NOT be able to be changed. Sorry...just heard it.
Wow, I can see this becoming an ugly situation when pricing is released. I'm not saying that Chevy will overprice, but lots of people ordering between 10/13 and whenever pricing is revealed will have different expectations of how much they are spending.

I hope Chevy isn't making the assumption that people who order in October don't care how much they're spending...

That is odd - in the Corvette ( a Chevy, after all ) world
there is an event code

2050-Order changed

- Ray
I wonder why these Camaro orders cannot be changed -
with months & months between order & build ?????

if we can't change it (which seems slightly unsettling) can we @ least have the option to cancel our order if it ends up out of our price range?

Exactly. How can ANYONE order something this substantial without knowing the price? Anyone who does that gets what they deserve and Chevy is setting themselves up to piss off a lot of people.

WHAT!? Your dealership better be careful too then. I've never heard of anything like this, but I've not bought an American car in quite some time. Is this common practice?

I have a few weeks before this all starts, and like any other dealer, we do not have all the answers. Just keep in mind everything is always "*subject to change"

Like any other order, they could be changed if it was before it was accepted for production. I need some clarification which I haven't got, and I don't know when I will hear an answer. Trust me, I want to know as much as anyone!

do yo know where you are going to order? you could call them and have them put an order in for you and have a loved one or friend put a down payment in for you
