I was just wondering...

I have a 2LT/RS ABM Camaro and I want to upgrade the exhaust on my v6...I was just wondering can I get an axle back for an SS and install it on my 2LT or is that not possible and if it’s possible will it mess up my car in any way or void any warranties? I want to get the Magnaflow Comp series Axle back exhaust...what other options do I have and my budget for the exhaust is less the $500.00 and since I’m asking about the exhaust, I was also wondering what type of Cold Air Intake system do yall prefer? I do understand that there may be thread covering this but I just couldn’t find one with someone putting an exhaust for a v8 on a v6...Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

Dude I just bought and installed the Magnaflow full catback for the V6 and I'm extreamly happy with the sound. It sounds more like the V8 very deep tone very impressed. I got a special price that expires this month from JDP Motorsports

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28427

Contact them and see what they tell you. price is too low to post.

There are usually good reasons a product is made for a specific trim level. If a product is made for the V8 as opposed to the V6, it could be due to mounting points or that the results of the exhaust might be worse on a different model. For instance, if there is a different underbody shape or different mounting points, the cost of the wrong exhaust will only go up because the install will take longer, and the the fit will be poor. Adding a product to the wrong vehicle might even void the manufacturer's warranty.

If you have a V6, I'd strongly encourage you to look into a V6 exhaust.

I agree with the blur...do not order an aftermarket exhaust designed for the V8 when you own a V6. Companies design the exhausts differently due to several variables to get the tone they feel is right. Buying a V8 intended exhaust will not necessarily yeild a deeper sound (if thats what your ultimately going after) and the mounting might be a tad off as well.

Just do your research on the V6 exhausts examples thread and go from there.

FISHTAIL....I'd be interested in hearing your exhaust. Although its the axel-back from Magnaflow that I'm really after (and searching for video clips) but your cat-back should provide a decent example. I'm not satisfied with the videos they've posted of the cat-back on the magnaflow site. Its just WOT vids...no good cold start or cruising vids.

I'll post some Video and pics when I get a chance but keep in mind that the deep lows that this exhaust puts out you can't reproduce on sound clips.
Don't bother looking for clips on the axel back they're not available anywhere.
JPD deal was so good I got the whole catback for almost the price of the axcel back, look into it.

Really? the only reason why i was sticking with an Axle back was becuz i can spend near a thousand for an exhaust at this time...but i really dont like the sound of the stock...its to quite...

JDP is cool - give him a call and chat with him about it.
I have an x-pipe and an LS3 from an SS I am getting ready to put on.
Also got the Airaid from him - great price and fun to talk to.
