Stock Auto MPG

Can someone post what MPG they’re getting driving normal. My car has 1500 miles (v8 auto) on it, and I’m only getting 18mpg while driving very conservatively on the highway.

Go fill up with 91 octane or higher. Then do the fuse pull. Make sure mileage and speed average indicators are reset. Hopefully that will do it for ya.

I was getting somewhere around 17.5-18. I then did headers, rotofab cai and predator tune and I'm at 19.1 right now.

Is the predator tune the best tune for the L99?? Does it deactivate AFM?

I just drove my L99 from Norman, OK to Montgomery, AL and back. The best I got was 24.3 highway and usually got about 23. I drove around 75. I did not drive easy. Getting on the highway was full throttle and a heavy foot when getting around traffic.

My "mixed" driving (I don't live in town) is usually 18 mpg. I have 3,900 miles. The only mod is the Solo Performance Mach XL cat-back exhaust. My "mixed" mileage and highway mileage did not change after the mod.

Definately do the fuse pull. You might run your fuel way down, go fill up at a good (or different) station, then do the fuse pull. I've pulled mine twice just for fun. I've noticed no difference in mine when I've done the fuse pull.

Good luck.

I would say something is up if thats 100% highway.I would do as instructed with fuse pull and highest octane availible in your area. Calculate your own mileage instead of letting the computer do it. Thats why the above poster got 33mpg. Do you really think he got 33mpg with a 4000lb car and 430hp using 87 octane?

Ya, I think his LS3 could do that ... on a real long downhill run.

With everything stock and decent gas I usually see 18.5/22-23. The highway mileage is pretty good if you set the cruze control and run about 2000 rpm. But what fun is that???

The funny thing, even when I'm getting on it, the min. mileage isn't much less than 18 mpg. We see what effect the Cold Ar Induction has.

That was on a run to L.V. a week or so ago, But maybe it was in neutral going off the hill.

If any one can tell them how downhill it id from Lauglhin, NV to Los Vegas, NV,

700ft above sea level to 2300ft and back down and it was almost 240 MI on the 4 lane highway, But you can say what you want.

Mostly, I'm a daily driver 85% highway 15% city. I'm not sure if it's the AFM, but when I cruise, ie, light gas pedal pressure and constant speed (whether it's highway or city), I think the AFM kicks in. At least it feels like it but I can't be sure.

Anyway, I'm averaging 23.2 mpg.

Over the X-MAS holiday, I drove 10% highway 90% city and my mileage was 17.8 mpg.

No matter if it's highway or city, I jump on it at least once a trip. It's impossible not to.

have you tried resetting the mpg while you are driving?
