Guide to Bench Racing

Here are a few do's and don'ts.

Do
  • Scour the internet for the best time for your prefered car
  • Ignore equivalent (similarly skilled driver, conditions, etc) conditions for the competition
  • Rely on magical qualitative stats and specs when measurable performance shows your car is inferior
  • Remember that your car, when modded, can beat a stock Camaro
  • Remember that when modded, your Camaro can be faster than a stock GT5000

Don't
  • Acknowledge the other car is better
  • Acknowledge the other car is intended for a different market
  • Consider the real effects of torque, weight, gearing, or other performance factors
  • Concede that your car might have some sort of critical disadvantage (like acceleration or handling)

... The only problem I have with the whole "equivalent" argument is this: Going by that logic, then the GT500 is only .1 tenth better than the SS in the same conditions. Same driver, same day, same track, etc. And we all know that's BS.

The CAI on my Cobalt was crafted by elves from the far north out of the tears of unicorns and no Camaro on Earth can beat it.

I have a bench. That's right. I took bench racing literally, and I now have the world's fastest bench. Take that.

My bench has a giant red R sticker that gives it 20 horsepower. Plus, it has VTEC!
