Thumbs down Wow--- service / maintenance prices

Just thought I'd point out why some of us decide to maintain our vehicles in our own garage as opposed to having someone else do it.

I was filling up at a local 76 station in Irvine and had to go inside to get the card to work. The manager was on the phone talking to a customer and was explaining his prices..He said "well yea your power steering was a dark color, so that's $145.00...and oh yea your K&N filter is dirty and needs cleaning...Oh for us to clean it is $140.00"!!!!

Obviously I would never go to a gas station for repairs...but honestly I gotta feel bad for the poor bas&%#ds that actually go there for service.

Yeah and you need a new windshield washer fluid filter. If you don't replace that you might not pass emissions.

Don't forget to have the muffler bearings inspected.

Don't forget the notorious headlight fluid. It's a disaster if that runs low!

The good news is, we have a special on for this week only to tune and clean the flux capacitor.

Hey I'm with you. I just did plugs and wires on my GMC Sonoma. What a pain it was. I can only imagine the cost if I were to have brought it to a shop to do. Unless it's warranty work I'll be doing it myself!

Not ALL of the gas station repair shops are crooked. Atleast not 2 around here that i know of. Now them damned quickie lubes are a whole different story. I took my wife's Sentra to the 10min oil change place (cuz I was in a hurry, and feelig kinda lazy) for an oil change and tire rotation. So they finish and I went to pay the bill.... $57 I was like WTF??? So he explained that since I wanted Valvoline instead of Penzjunk it was $35. FOR 3 QTS OF OIL!! I said what a ****in RIP OFF I could have went to the gas station and bought the oil for like $12 MAX!! Needless to say I NEVER went to one of them things again....EVER
