Hi guys!
I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one of these bad boys real soon.

My dealer (who I just bought an Acadia from in December and gave me wicked service) has given me a couple options to get the car I want.

They have a few cars coming in so I could pick up one of those if they have the options I want. Or he can place an order for a new one to be made. Or he can trade with another dealer to get me one with the options i want.

Another option he told me to consider was to buy one with around 12,000 km on it and save around $10,000. We are in Ontario and he said he can get it from the states for cheaper and sell it to me.

What do you guys think about that option?

How bad do you want one that is new? (Yours and yours alone) How much of a factor is the cost?

The used ones are typically going to be rental returns so most likely they will not have been treated nice.

I have a 1LT IOM Auto w/sunroof rental here...about 11K miles - it's actually almost perfect. I drive it over night, and it is like new, other than the miles.

I usually only buy new cars but for $10,000 off, it is pretty tempting to go with a used.

If you want the feeling of knowing you have your own custom ordered one then do so. If not find one on a dealers lot. If you dont want to spend all that money on a new one, look for used.

If you do buy it used, make sure to get a vehicle history on it. Would suck to find out that it was wrecked at some point later on.

Personally, I'd only buy it new, assuming I can afford it. I wouldn't care if I ordered it or not, but it'd have to be new. If money is an issue, saving 10k on a used car and still getting a camaro is a great deal.

If you can find one on a lot or dealer trade that has everything you want, I would go that route. You'll have the car a lot sooner. I only ordered because I couldn't find what I wanted (most dealers had 2SS's). The wait wasn't bad, about 2 months, but I would have loved to get it sooner.

Used wouldn't be a bad way to go to save some $$, but I agree about getting a CARFAX report to make sure nothing major happened to it.

If I could of found one on a dealers lot with everything I wanted, I would of gone for it. Since I didn't though, I ordered one. The wait sucks though! But I know it will be all worth it so I can't complain that much.

Then just get a new one.

And a used SS for 10k less than new is going to be hard to find. Order a new one and have it when the snow melts.

I don't mind spending the money. Its just that if I could drive away in a 2SS for the price of a 2LT...it does make me happier. (I'm kind of cheap...lol)

But, does it really make a difference that the car has 6 months on it before i get it...not to me. But if the car was a rental it is a whole different ball game.

Most of the used SS's that I have seen are only like 2 grand cheaper than a new one. You may win the lottery and find one that someone is trying to unload for somewhat cheaper.

I think the used prices are ridiculous, but it has to do with supply. There just aren't many used SS's laying around.

No question for me. I will be buying new. Then again I'm getting a LS. It would take a lot for me to go used and I do mean slot. I'm talking like 14-15k which won't happen.
