What oil to use

I have seen a few post on this but wanted to ask the simple question that I have not seen an answer on. I have the V8 2SS and wanted to know the recommended oil to use. Pure Synthetic - Synthetic Blend (I am assuming that the standard oil is out of the question)

Welcome to the site! The manual suggests Mobil 1 5W-30 - as stated above. It's a pure synthetic oil. Now, there are many many posts on oil and everyone has their opinions, so...change as often as you like and use a good synthetic oil and it should be fine

Don't forget that oil filter also!

Do your own oil/filter changes?

Congrats on the great car too!

The 5w-30 that it came with is full synth. BUT, is designed for getting every last mpg out of the engine. Not a sufficient oil in my book to have a hot-rod engine survive, especially one that gets modded.

At minimum I would go up to a 10w-30. I personally have moved to Mobil 1 15W-50 Performance. It is a bit harder to find but the engine loves it. Our cars come with roller lifters that can be a bit noisy. After my switch, pure silence!! Except from the exhaust!!
