Is this wrong? and New era?

That I would rather have a 2SS/RS Summit White with black rallys then any super car on the market right now? Just seems so wrong yet so right at the same time.....

My second thought: Will the Ford Mustangs news V8 possibly start up another war between Chevy, Ford, and Dodge for Muscle cars? By that I mean will we see a start up of making better and better engines to try and have the faster car (all around better), which will be better for us consumers or are those days long gone?

Yeah, the war will be on until a certain political party puts the brakes on it like they did back in 1970. Look up the sponsor of the clean air act and you will know what I am talking about. I remember well just what happened. It will be fun for a few years though. When enough people like the guy with the youngest Camaro owner thread start putting their graduation presents around telephone poles Uncle Government will punish the rest of us and legislate them out of existence once again. When they debated banning the high performance motorcycles in the 1980's, the argument was that they were too inexpensive and that commoners like us could actually afford them. It was only the inexpensive toys that they wanted to ban, not the ones that their wealthy campaign contributers could afford. I hope that the moderator does not consider this political because I made an effort not to mention parties or politicians. What I am saying is public record. I actually joined the American Motorcyclist Association for a couple of years because they took a stand and fought the Super Bike Ban. The motorcycle manufacturers cancelled all of their TV advertising because of this and this is why you will not be seeing any Camaro SS's doing any accelerating in TV commercials.

I had a gentlemen start up a conversation at the gas pump yesterday. He asked me what I liked best about the new Camaro. He was suprised when I responded with nostalgia. He figured I would say the engine, styling, etc. Truth is I have owned quite a few Camaros and have loved every one. This was the only car I would ever buy brand new, period. I came across a 2006 vette with 13k miles and a 2007 GT500 at the same time I was looking for the Camaro. Passed them both up and havent regretted it one minute. I really wouldn't care if the charger and mustang both smoked the Camaro in the 1/4 mile.

We should see all three make some HP increases over the next few years until Uncle Sam finds a way to kill the new era. The MPG bill of 2016 (I think it is) should be doable while still having these vehicles. The Mustang has been behind the curve but the new 2011 should slap it right next to the other two.

I am not sure what he meant either by Mustang wins for now, but he also has a SS Camaro, so he's not a pro Mustang troll he is a pro muscle car troll. (sorry coolman, )

Quite possibly, but as it stands right now its a two army war. Not that I dislike the Chally mind you. I actually like alot of things about it more than the Mustang. It just doesn't seem like Dodge wants to commit to making it a serious competitor in the segment. They got a decent grip on people who remember the first pony era, but they aren't doing much to attract younger people...which is where the Camaro and the Mustang are killing them. Alot of us like the car, but simply won't pay that price.

Building my own on their website, it seems to get what is comparable to my Camaro I'd have to pay a 3k premium...and thats even before I take into consideration the fact that my Camaro qualified for cash for clunkers...which the Challenger did not.

Good car, which unfortunately up to this point has been the victim of poor business decisions. Hope they recover.

I would rather have my Camaro than any other car out there PERIOD !
While driving on the interstates last year I had more high end cars such as Mustangs, Beamers, Mercedes, etc. Speeding up, slowing down &/or circling my SS. I was definately king of the hill.
The muscle car war days are here now in my opinion, but unless we start drilling for our own oil it could come to an end overnight. $6 or $8.00 a gallon gas will kill these Camaros and all muscle cars fast. I remember in the '70's when the oil embargo was in effect, you couldn't sell a used muscle car and no one was buying new ones. Better enjoy these great Camaros while we can.

it seems that way, and will continue as consumers are the driving force.

My thoughts when I see a super car range from "that's cool" to "that's weird." My thoughts when I first saw the Camaro were "I MUST HAVE IT!!" So no, you're not the only one.

I can honestly say that there isn't a car in the world I would take over a Camaro; it IS my dream car. That's not to say if someone offered me a Bugatti Veyron I wouldn't take it, 'cause I would in a heartbeat. Think of all the Camaros I could buy after selling it.
